Membership is based on scholarship, leadership, service and character. The student must be in the upper third of his class. Five per cent of each graduating class is selected in the latter part of the junior year. The result is announced at Commencement in June. Ronald Campany, George Kilpatrick, William Grunert, John Lormore, and Beverly Rogers were chosen last June. Third Row: CHORUS In their maroon robes, with smiling faces and sparkling eyes, the chorus presented its annual Christmas concert, in the morning for' the school students, and at night for their parents and friends. The quartets which are a section of the chorus had their beginning in 1951. The members of the girls' quartet consisted of jane Nortz, Joanne Ward, Nancy Kelly and joan Peebles. The members of the boys' quartet consisted of Dick Greene, Gordon Allen, David Boshart and David Klosner. Assisting in this democratic group were: Noel Day, vice-president, Carol Chartrand, secretary-treasurer, with Miss Myrtle Young, advisor. This year's student council increased in number to 45 members, resulting from a new voting policy. Each homeroom selected a representative and two alternates. At these meetings many subjects were brought before the group and discussed thoroughly since the student council is the deliberative body of our school. They con- sider and adopt laws to better our school. One of the activities which the student council did well was the supervision of the noon hours with hall duty. This group also supervised the auditorium during assemblies. A series of assemblies presented by various groups and Classes, along with the annual paid assemblies, were sponsored by this active group. 27
