LOWACADIAN O 1940 unior Class History We started out with the greatest of hopes and ambitions with Willard Weber acting as president, Katherine Davis as vice-president, John Haberer as treasurer and Norma Christensen as secretary. During the year, the Juniors gave the traditional Junior-Frosh party, introducing us to the social whirl of high school life. We finished our first year by winning the class championship on Field Day and by having a picnic at Crystal Lake. As sophisticated sophomores, we sailed along the first part of the year with Paul Smith as president, John Haberer as vice-president, Jean Burns as secretary and Jack Wolfe as treasurer, but with a depleted financial treasury. However, true to our reputation, we put over a very successful Square Dance for the Seniors, adding amply to our treasury. We opened our Junior year by giving a novelty dance for the Frosh, fea- turing Lew QKay Keyserj Shattuck and his orchestra. At Easter time we gave a most successful Prom, Jan Campbell and his famous collegiate orchestra furnish- ing the music. Our third and greatest success of the year was our Junior Play. We realized over two hundred dollars from this, while giving our audience a good time. Our guiding lights this year have been our president, Milton Russum: vice-president, Charles Peters, secretary, Louise Thisseg treasurer, Howard Chap- man and our class advisers, Miss Kapfer, Miss Young and Mr. Yazinski. l28l
