Q, The hot War was over when we arrived in Korea, but the war of nerves was still on, The commies had a nasty habit of flying their MlGs close to the 38th parallel, which resulted in our going to GQ quite frequently and staying at condition Ill during most of our stay. Those of us who Went ashore found the buildings pock- marked from many months of bombardment by both UN and Communist forces ..... those that still stood. Both Inchon and Pusan were in pretty bad shape. Many of the civilians were living in smallg over-crowded shacks, hastily constructed to take care of the overflowing population.
