THE HARVEY H. LOWREY SCHOOL CONCLUDES A QUARTER OF A CENTURY Twenty-five years ago The Harvey H. Lowrey School began to serve the people of the community. It was a new elementary and junior high school in a new and rapidly growing center with a complete unit to care for those with special problems and afflict- afflictions. Thus, The Lowrey School has evolved from the planner's chart to the bui1der's reality to be concluded in a service which has extended through a severe depression into the throes of a world war. In the post-war period, services of the school were extended to include the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades. The beautiful stone building stands as a monument to its builders, dedicated to free public education. But its real significance lies in the hearts, minds, and service of its pupils, faculty, and staff. Many people have attended Lowrey School. Some Lowrey students have sacrificed their lives for their country. Others have contri- buted their services in a variety of ways. The building is a beautiful structure, but the school will continue to live only in the lives of those who have served it and in the lives of those who have been served by it. May we all dedicate ourselves to the never finished tasks about us. May we serve and build better wherever we are because of our association with the HARVEY H. LOWREY SCHOOL. Merwin A. Lewis, PRINCIPAL HARVEY H. LOWREY SCHOOL
