SENICJR :N X x Q 7 X Phrlvrlle Illrnors U S A arth Aprrl 27 1961 Dear Mrss Morrrson I recerved your letter the frrst of the week rnqurrrng as to the whereabouts of the class ol 46 I was glad to have an excuse to look up my former classmates so I secured John Hawk to prlot my rocket shrp and we set off rnto the unrverse Whrle crursrng along we hrt an arr pocket I recerved a severe blow on the head Upon our arrrval at Juprter I asked for the arrport nurse and to my surprrse Rene Rae Flrck came to my ard Alter con versrng about old trmes she drrected me to the Weg stern Laboratory There I found John workrng on a new theory on the moon Just then a comet shot by and he was oll rn a flash to contrnue hrs work I then went rnto the large crty of Robertstown to buy supplres lor my trrp Rene Rae had mentroned that one of Robert Ingolds SellServrce stores was located here Hoprng to lrnd Robert rn I went to the ollrce and was greeted by Ruth Ann Schwartz formerly known as typrst whrz at W T H S She had charge of Roberts co respondence and busrness apporntments Durrng our conversatron I drscovered that Marran Tenhaelf was the advertrsrng and brll desrgnrng manager ol the frrm As Robert was vrsrtrng one of hrs stores on Venus sard good bye to Ruth Ann and went back to my rocker: shrp My next stop was on Neptune Here I found Admrral Herrngton rn charge of the space shrp Unrversal E tertarnrng on thrs shrp was the noted televrsron co medran and stage star Lorna Adamr Lorna had garned lame by her natural abrlrty to make people laugh Walter Frtschen I drscovered was rn her troupe also He was known as the Srnatra of 61 I asked Lorna rf she knew the whereabouts of any of our former classmates She only knew of Kathleen Wallace and Marrlyn Bratt who were dorng publrc health work on Neptune and Juprter PRCDPHECY My next stop was at the planet Meta Mars Esther Losher was lrvrng here wrth her farmer husband on the Clrlf Plantatron She took me through her house then we sat and talked about the good old days Esther mentroned that one of her nerghbors was an ex class mate Judson Faw He had perfected a new krnd of hog whrch had all lean bacon A prolessor at Hamp shrre College Dale Gerber had provrded frnancral ard lor the necessary experrments So far I had seen only fourteen of my classmates I proceeded on my journey along the Mrlky Way to Mercury I found Marrorre Patterson who had marrred an ex sarlor She had frve chrldren Thead Bobby Davy Don and lrttle Harvey I drscovered that the publrsher of her darly newspaper was another former classmate Barbara Pacey who specralrzed rn an Advrce to the Lovelorn column Ray Moultons prcture was on the front page of her newspaper He was drlrgently pursu rng the Case of the Lost Eclrpse Alter a very pleasant vrsrt wrth Marrorre I agarn set out My next stop was at Saturn the medrcal center of the unrverse Betty Wrllrams had just been promoted to head nurse at the St Leo Hosprtal She showed me through the hosprtal and who should I frnd as he d dretrcran but Amanda Knoblauch Alter exchangrng brts ol news we parted My next stop was at the North Star Seekrng relaxa tron I went to the Opera Arrrvrng rust as the curtarn rose I was greeted by the famrlrar vorce of Marrlyn Myers srngrng The Snag Creek Blues Alter the lrnal curtarn descended I went to the stars dressrng room We had a frrendly chat and she rnvrted me to vrsrt the Unrversrty of Washburn wrth her the next mornrng Beth ,Iury the Hrstory Professor was very glad to see us She rnvrted us to luncheon at her home where her prrvate secretary Evelyn Warnke was preparrng Beths lecture notes for the afternoon classes I told the gurls that I had been offered the posrtron as solo pranrst wrth the Unrted Planet Symphony Orchestra as soon as my con cert tour was over Secure rn the knowledge that my former classmates were prosperous and happy I notrfred my prlot John Hawk to have the shrp ready by late afternoon for the return trrp home The atom marl plane leaves rn lrfteen mrnutes so I must close I hope I have grven you enough rnlormatron about my former classmates Best wrshes to you rn your new posrtron at the Unrversrty Srncerely Phyllrs Robbrns r X X f na x X 1 2 I T G X4 ,TX r N E x J - . , 1 . . . ...fi .. . . .1 - .- - I f I ' , .
