■■rys ; Dedication We the 1972 yearbook staff dedicate the MUNIN to principal T. H. Wall, who re- tires this year after 42 years of dedicated service. Mr. Wall, principal of Lowndes High since 1967, has been an excellent adminis- trator and symbol of superior leadership, both to the students and faculty, befriending both students and teachers as well as guiding all through the good times and the bad. Mr. Wall will always be remembered not only for his responsibility to and for his faculty and student body but also for his dedication to the principle of a good education for all who wish it. 3 Memories of the past are brought into focus through the pages of the 1972 MUNIN. The MUN1N staff endeavors to capture the many waves of emotion that everyone experiences in school life. We hope this book will bring back the triumphs, the expectations, the excite- ment, and the happiness we all shared. Let your mind wander back to the times captured in the following pages ... it takes but a moment. All new classes, teachers and friends were to become familiar to them as they came to school day after day. Thrall Week and elections start the year off. All the rumors about Thrall Week are true. It was rough for those who participated but it was worth it. The elections were held the second month of school. The candidates campaigned for a week. The students then chose the four officers who were to represent them and speak for what they wanted in the coming year. The officers were good leaders and the experi- ence will be valuable in the two years to come. Long hours of practice during and after school and on Wednesday nights, proved valuable for the Vikettes did earn their pay- check. The tiring road trips and noisy crowds made up the itinerary of the 1971-72 Vikettes. Everybody remembers the four game winning streak, beating Berrien County, eating lunch in fifteen min- utes, the new white uniforms, the stripped travel uniforms, Lou’s never ending hustle and free shots, Ard ’s long outside shots, Marcia’s rebounds, Dickson's drives, Patti's lay-ups, Linda's ball handling, Lynn's free shot that won the Monroe game, and the spirit from the bench. Not only friendships have developed but also special moments have been shared which will be remembered for years to come. Amid it all, each player contributed his best to the team effort. Many hours of work will be spent before, during, and after school to meet the deadline set by the publishers. Composed of students who choose to take the year- book course, the staff handles everything from the school pictures to the student identification cards. Student photographers take and develop nearly all of the pictures used in the Munin. Every member of this activity has to start from scratch at the first of the year and work hard to get the job required of them done. After the work and anxiety of producing the Munin is over, one realizes that this is his work and something he can look back on with pride - saying he was a part of putting it together.
