Theme Illustrated in the pages to follow is the typical day of the students at Lowndes County High School. The day may have started with the ring of the alarm clock, a brief breakfast and a helpful shove out the front door, where the cheerful yellow bus awaited. On the bus closely-knit students in a half-awake state mingled, talked, told jokes, and laughed before starting a sup- posedly serious day of study. Once in school, students dispersed in all directions, to the lockers, the crowd- ed girls rooms for a last-minute comb-out, and to homerooms. Throughout the day, friends met, shared happiness and good times as well as the problems and heartbreaking experiences of that day. That special he or she , the tests failed together, football games and dances, are all events to be remembered. In the years to come, when recalling distant memories the following pages will bring back to life the life you lived at Lowndes County High.

What was LOHI? LOHI was faces-- of teachers, friends, fellow students, sad ones, and happy ones, always chang- ing. LOHI was activity--quiet study, serious discussion, exciting games and noisy crowds. LOHI was color--sometimes bright, happy colors and sometimes blue but always there was a color. LOHI was a feeling--a sense of belonging to that wonderful blue and gold, of being a Golden Eagle! [ 9 ]
