r Principal's Message Dear Friends, There are two sides of life which deserve serious consideration. It seems to me that both of these sides must be developed harmoniously if we are to grow into well-rounded personalities. First, there is the cooperative side which consists in developing such attributes of character as friendliness, politeness, courtesy, humility, patience, understanding, compassion, charity, and a process. This is also the Christian way of life for Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Secondly, there is the competitive side of life which consists in preparing, striving, grasping op- portunities, achieving, excelling, overcoming, succeeding and, yes, even winning. This is also a part of the educational process. It is also a Christian way of life for Paul admonishes us to press on, to fight a good fight, to run a good race, to live victoriously. These two sides of life, cooperation and competition, do not oppose each other, but work to- gether, supplement and strengthen each other in the building of a noble and useful life. He who strives for excellency and mastery and lives victoriously attains unto a position in which he is best enabled to serve well his fellow-man, his country, and his Creator. I want to encourage all of you, my good friends, to develop a good cooperative spirit and at the same time to avail yourselves of every opportunity here in the Lowndes County High School, our school, to develop a good competitive spirit by competing, succeeding, overcoming obsta- cles, and excelling in your every undertaking. My commendations to the Annual Staff for a job well dene, my heartiest congratulations and sincere best wishes to each member of the Senior Class of 1962. real willingness to help and serve our fellow-man at all times. This' is a part of the educational Your friend. T. H. Wall, Jr. 8
