SENIOR CLASS HISTORY By Jeanette Knight On August 19, 1946, the freshman class started out with forty five pupils on our climb up the ladder of learning Our class officers for that year were Raymond L Wyatt, president, Glen Boyd Sears, vice president, Carolyn Carter, secretary and treasurer, and Wayne Sanderson, class report Our class was under the sponsorship of Mrs Doris Wil kins In the famous 'Queen Contestn our contestant, Marian Lowe, ran a close second to the senior, Betty Goatley We entered our sophomore year with several new faces and to learn that we had lost quite a few of our old ones W had an enrollment of twenty nine We enjoyed one of our best years of school this year We had Marian Lowe and Nan cy Duncan chosen for cheerleaders out of our class Pat Gregory ran as our queen contestant against senior, Linnie Jo Davidson Our class officers for the year were Charles Wyatt, president, Raymond Wyatt, vice president, Pat Greg ory, secretary and treasurer Our sponsor was Mrs Imogene Monroe When we entered school in our junior year, we missed a few old faces We felt we had the largest job of our school gave a very nice and successful banquet for the seniors at the Irving Cobb Hotel in Paducah under the sponsorship of Mrs Imogene Monroe Our class play for the year was NMa ma's Baby Boy' which we thought was very good as it was our first play Our class officers for the year were Raymond Wyatt, president, Glen Sears, vice president, Claydean Dav idson, secretary, and Carolyn Carter, treasurer. In August, 1949, as seniors we entered with a new dignity befitting our classification Our number this year was twenty five Our class officers were Charles Wyatt, pres ident, Raymond Wyatt, vice president, Claydean Davidson, secretary, and Nancy Duncan, treasurer The plays we gave were 'Comin' Round The Mountainn and nRich For A Day The class was very proud of the success which we had with them When we had completed the '50 annual, we knew we had com pleted one of the largest jobs the seniors had to do, but we engoyed making the annual Lowes High School will suffer greatly the loss of several basketball stars, several faithful voices in the chorus, several dependable and indispensable helpers in various de partments and twenty five of the biggest eaters that ever patronized the lunch room We will always be grateful to our parents and teachers for helping us to arrive at this Junction of our education era e O I . FACTS ABOUT THE SENIORS By Marlan Lowe The president of our class is a very studlous fellow who has an outstandlng record, and who is always willing to do his part, He is no other than Charles Wyatt Charles is the eighteen year old son of Mr and Mrs Clifton Wyatt of Fol omdale Charles has been going to school at Lowes for the last nine years He played in our Junior play nMama's B y Boy' and our senior play 'Rich For a Dayn H has played basketball four years, one year on the second team and three years on the first He served as captain in his senior year He was elected the best all around boy of H S ln l9 9 ' O He is president of the T B Asso ciation, member of the Glee Club for one year, and one year a member of the ECOHOmlCS Club He also served on the board of directors for the nconomics Club He served as vice presldent of our reshman class, president of our sophomore class, and presldeut of our senior class The editor of our annual is none other than Claydean Davldson Claydean's clevernes and H1 h ideals have won respect fron botl friends and teachers Claydean is the seventeen year old dauvhter of Mr and Hrs Charlie C rolled here ln the flfth grade You have seen Claydean in 'Mmna s Baby Boy' and NRich For a ay S e has been falthful member of the Glee Club for four years, acting as president ' 9 '50 She served as secretary of our junior and senior classes, as editor of our school paper for fall semester ' 8 ' 9 and as secretary of the School T B Asso ciation The assistant editor of our annual is Gwen Byrn She has been a student at Lowes for four years and has applied herself faithfully to her work If a student wants some good advice or some one to help hlm with his work, he usual ly runs to Gwen Seventeen year old Gwen came to Kentucky from Michlgan She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Byrn Gwen served as assistant director of our junior play 'Mamals Baby Boy' and played 1D our senior play URich For a ay' She has been a falthful member of the Glee Club three years, Economics Club two years, and of the H Club four years Gwen was typist and buslness manager for the school paper 1 114.8 9 Mr and Mrs Cecil Wyatt never will know the value that their son Raymond, has given to his class His comics and witticisms have kept us alive He attended Melber and Lone Oak schools belore coming to Lowes Seventeen year old Raymond was elected the most studious boy of Lowes High in ab ' A ' '. e Lo o 0 .
