'Second Class Rangers Earn Promotion Lower Paxton Hi h School June 7 1943 An 9 I I - enterprising and honorable Junior Class has iust completed the third lap of the iourney towards Graduation. The rough road lconsisting of physics problems. Latin translations. geometric theorems, typing assignments, bookkeeping entries, current event reports and sewing unitsl, which the Rangers have already traversed has not been easy going. However they have all faced the music together. and with the daring of true Rangers, have won the Junior laurels with a report of passing grades. Now there lies before them. the Senior year, which should prove to be the most enjoyable and mem- orable experience of all. THE MATURITY OF THE RANGERS Seniors Enter School for Last Time Lower Paxton High School. Sept. 6. l943-Hav- ing completed their third year of high school life. the Seniors entered their fourth and tina! lap today with mingled emotions of awe and pride- Awe because they have attained the unattainable. and Pride because they realize the importance of their new position and the duties which it carries. The class of 44 is already beginning to think of the main iob of the whole high school career-the ublication of the school annual. The treasurer's book shows a balance of 5248.64-an able financial start. However each class member knows that such a meager amount needs ample increment. Seniors Active in Student Council Lower Paxton High School. Nov. I4. I943- Realizing the responsibility of being top-Rangers. the Seniors are striving to better their school by engaging in the duties of Student Councilmen. Twelve active me'm'bers are helping to patrol halls. conduct various homeroom groups to assembly and enforce school laws. The Councilman from Mrs. Holt's room are: Richard Devore. Ruth Harman. Ellen Jones. Julius Kenes and Francis Mummert. The Councilmen from Miss Wertz's room are: Rich- ard Beers, Paul Geesaman. Guy Heckman. Rai h Levin. Robert Miller. Grace Rebuck. Frank Metzlier and Arthur Shope. Seniors Work Through Christmas Rush Lower Paxton High School. Jan. 3. i944-Today is the first school day of this year. and with its many surprises it has also brought the return of the Seniors. During the period before and after Christ- mas. when post offices. railroads and stores were at the peak of activity. the Seniors did their bit for the War effort. by assisting in the various busi- ness places which needed aid. To do this they were obliged to work double-duty. part time on their iobs and the remaining few hours on their ever present school studies. Now they have re- turned to continue their school life. Many Seniors Appear in Musical Lower Paxton High School. March 4, I944-Last night brought to a climax the successful entertain- ment staged entirely by the Ranger pupils. This program. entitled the Musical Comedy. com- pleted its scenes commendafbly. thus bringing to a fitting end the first 'program of its kind ever staged in this school. Pupils of every grade took art in the show but the maiority of actors. and the top men in production came from the senior ranks. The financial status of the treasury of the Athletic Association has been greatly reimbursed by the success of this program. Rangers Appear in Drama Lower Paxton High School. April 22. I944-Last evening the Charles George comedy Peck's Bad Boy. was played here by a cast from the gradu- ating' class of this school. This play was deemed by t e audience as a veritable class triumph. As the final curtain fell on Henry and the other Packs there was perhaps a trace of sadness on the faces of most class members. for this was the last product for this Ranger band. Seniors Present Yearbooks Lower Paxton High School, Ma I7, I944-T'he Ranger, Lower Paxton High Schoolis yearbook. was released from press early this morning. Many a frantic Ranger, rushing to and fro, with a large. glossy, -blue bound book clasped in one hand and a pen held in the other. spent spare moments attempting to secure the autographs of school mates. To the Seniors this is a proud day. for it means the successful accomplishment of the an- nual which will preserve the precious memories of their school life. Graduation Day Neers Lower Paxton High School, May I9. I944-The day looms near when the Seniors will no longer be Seniors. but Alu-mni. For the last few weeks plans have been in progress for the commencement ex- ercises which will be held in the school auditorium May 25. I944. For the Seniors this is an intensely important event. To tihem it signifies the fulfill- ment of their highest hopes and dreams. lt means that they. the now top ranking Rangers who are so vitally a part of the school they have loved. and fought to defend during the last four years. will soon receive their diplomas. thus rewarding them for their labors. Then they will be free to go forth as individual Rangers to give service to the world. Surely the will succeed at whatever they attempt. because they are Rangers made of the strongest steel and of the finest temper. Baccalaureate Service Held Colonial Park. Pa..
