Sadness is combined with our re- joicing, however, for we know that after graduation we shall never mingle again as a class. One of the largest classes to enter Lower Paxton assembled on September 4, 1934. This class was made up of sixty-five Freshmen who were eager to set out upon an interesting educational quest. During this year our class organized for the first time. The outstanding social event of our first year was a trip to Hershey Park on the last day of school. In the fall of 1935 we returned to school as Sophomores. Our class had decreased in number from sixty-five to forty-eight. During this year no class projects were undertaken due to the fact that we did not anticipate a trip to Washington at the end of our senior year. It was during this year that the most eventful happening of our school days occurred. Plans were made to re- model our school: a gymnasium! a stage large enough to accommodate any project undertaken! a new Home Economics Laboratory! a Commercial De- partment! a Chemistry and Physics Laboratory! Before the end of school the contractors had already started digging the foundations, pouring concrete, and laying bricks. It was then we realized how fortunate we were to be able to enjoy these additions during our last two years. This year was not passed in strenuous routine of classroom work alone. Refreshing diversion, in the form of a picnic at Hershey Park on the last day of school, received its due emphasis. A year rich in experience closed, while another laden with new joys and ex- pectations awaited us. In September, l936, we at last received the title we had coveted so long- Juniors! This year we had one more member, making a grand total of forty- nine. The dedication of our new building was held in December, This was the oHicial inspection day for the parents, to whom we were exceedingly proud to show our new school. Our plans had again been changed and, at the end of our Junior year, we were eagerly anticipating a trip to Washington at the end of our Senior year. The outstanding event of this year was our class play, entitled, For Pete's Sake! This play was received by the largest audience ever to witness a play at Lower Paxton High School. At last we were Seniors! We had achieved our great ambition. During this year the second project of our school career was presented, in the form of a comedy entitled Dotty and Daffy, which was repeated in the Forum of the State Education Building for the Convention of the Brotherhood of Railroaders of Pennsylvania. The day is drawing nearer and nearer, when we, the graduating class of l938, will be doing as all former seniors have done. We will be going out into the world to try to make it a better place in which to live. Por the guidance which the faculty has given to us, for the high ideals and wisdom which our Alma Mater has instilled in us, we are indeed grateful. l34l Qcfivifies Toroli Stall ADV1soRs William E. Our initial appearance, at a P. T. A. supper, was greeted with fond approval. A month later we competed with several other schools, on the radio round-up.
