While being coached by Miss MacKay, the girls won their first few games until their lucky streak ended. They lost their next game to Wissahicken, who is now known to be their toughest oppo- nent next to Glenside-Weldon. The two captains of the team, Foxy Phee Marcucci and Miko , happened to be the two high scorers of the team this season. Miko had 85 points while Phee followed close behind. Other players included: T- Byrd DeVincent, Patti Griegs and Rosemary Motts . Rosemary took Gail Weino's position after her knee got injured at Jenkintown. The smallest player, Shortcakes Blumhardt , played excellent defense this season. The rest of the team played hard and practiced hard to achieve the results of eight wins and only three losses. We would all like to thank Mr. Raysor and Miss Mackay for their time and patience spent coaching us STARS. The seventh grade girls basketball team, coached by Mrs. Graf, went through the season almost undefeated with seven wins, three losses and no ties. Coach Graf says that although the team joked ' around often, they worked very hard and accomplished much. All participated to add to the team's success however some of the most talented players were Gail Ferguson and Penny Bart- lett. The most improved player was sald to be Dawn Pfendner. -I

The JV had four outstanding players: Brian Kavanaugh, Kyle Vogel, Bob Verderame, Bear McCloskey. Bear remained undefeated this season, and Bob had only one loss. There were many clubs that helped keep the wrestlers together and spirited. A few were the pride committee and the IOOVQ Club. All the clubs were created by their great coach, Mr. Sakovich, who deserves most of the credit for making the wrestling team so enthusiastic and successful. We want to commend Mr. Zanan too, for all his help with the wrestlers. This year, twenty of the varsity wrestlers won medals, and seven- teen of the JV won pins.
