While being coached by Miss MacKay, the girls won their first few games until their lucky streak ended. They lost their next game to Wissahicken, who is now known to be their toughest oppo- nent next to Glenside-Weldon. The two captains of the team, Foxy Phee Marcucci and Miko , happened to be the two high scorers of the team this season. Miko had 85 points while Phee followed close behind. Other players included: T- Byrd DeVincent, Patti Griegs and Rosemary Motts . Rosemary took Gail Weino's position after her knee got injured at Jenkintown. The smallest player, Shortcakes Blumhardt , played excellent defense this season. The rest of the team played hard and practiced hard to achieve the results of eight wins and only three losses. We would all like to thank Mr. Raysor and Miss Mackay for their time and patience spent coaching us STARS. The seventh grade girls basketball team, coached by Mrs. Graf, went through the season almost undefeated with seven wins, three losses and no ties. Coach Graf says that although the team joked ' around often, they worked very hard and accomplished much. All participated to add to the team's success however some of the most talented players were Gail Ferguson and Penny Bart- lett. The most improved player was sald to be Dawn Pfendner. -I

Coach Wittkamp said he enjoyed working with the entire team. They were very cooperative, and much of the time they even ran the team on their ownl Out of all the teams they played, Mr. Wittkamp felt that the game against Abington Jr. put the most strain on the players. Although the soccer team this year won just one game, Coach Wittkamp remarked, They tried their hardest to play well, and they did! . Mike Casey, Wayne Harris. Fieed Liff- and David Epstein. their season record was two wins, two ties, and five losses. One of the toughest games was against Huntingdon Jr. At the end of the first half the score was 1-1. Coach Larson sent in his finest players, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. Steve Frank, Scott Borowsky, and Bernie Cooper were named most valuable players. Though it was his first year on the team, Steve improved greatly. Scott, an experienced player, had a very important part in the team victories. Not like the others, who played one position, Scott played three: goalie, fullback, and halfback. Bernie, team cap- tain, scored the most goals this season. ij mf -det- .V -. . , :sfe2..ive:' 15.5 l 1':'.:'-:ezzarf-'ff-J.:.' 1-,L-:Ltr 3' ' , ,245-Jsjea-ii f I.-sf: Q' '1--I X , J.
