WILLIAM J. STRANIX General Huntingdon Valley Bill's good looks and equally good disposition give him a head start in any situation and help him keep the popularity he wins and deserves. Sports featured in Bill's activities, with three years of intramural football, softball, and basketball to his credit. Hunting and Fishing and Hi-Y were the choice clubs. In the Navy career Bill plans we know he'll go far. 1 k fi NANCY RUTH SWING Commercial Rockledge Nancy's chuckles never failed to brighten and lighten the atmosphere, and we welcomed her contagious laughter. She gave her serious attention to Typing and Glee clubs, however, and helped her class in basketball intramurals. Movies and classical music are two of her favorite diver- sions. Nancy seeks success in the business world after graduation. MARLIN TAYLOR General Feastervil le Marlin, another record playing man and partner in the firm of Taylor and Rogers, eats and sleeps in terms of electronics and his future work in television. It is appropriate that Marlo's club interest has been the Science group and that his service to the school has been through his work with the record player and movie projectors. The future has many opportunities for our scientific Marlo. JOY MAY TILGHMAN Commercial Huntingdon Valley 'Tillie' became a good friend to some of us as far back as first grade and she has continued to be a loyal friend since then. Her many club interests included Tri-Hi-Y, Art, Shop, Science, Junior Red Cross, and Glee. She was also on the Lion's Roar staff. Fashion design is Tillie's choice for a future career and it should be a highly successful one.

F R A N K S 0 R AC E General Huntingdon Valley We'll always remember with pleasure Frank's friendly nature, his contagious grin, and his willingness to help his class and classmates. Frank played intramural football, basketball, and softball with zip and ability. His interest in guns naturally led him to choose Hunting and Fishing Club first, but the Chorus and Elmleo staff also received his help. 'l'here's a real place in the future for Frank. CATHERINE ESTHER SPERLING Academic Trevose Heights Being a helpful, willing worker for her class Qremember all those dance and homeroom decorations?D made Cathy a valued friend and classmate. Her activities included Safety Club Gil and all intramurals for the four years, including the speedball championship game. In her lighter moments, Cathy chooses dancing and skating. For a career, nursing is her current choice. MARIE LAUREL SPONHEIMER Commercial Rockledge We welcomed Dukie in her junior year when she came to L.M. from South Philadelphia High. The Lion's Roar ha benefited by her efficient typing ever since and we have enjoyed her friendly, cheerful ways. Marie has many hobbies and interests - home decorating, crocheting, and collecting pictures. In her future work as a telephone operator, hers will really be the 'voice with a smile'. ' va 1 A e , or eee it L. prr 1 at DOROTHY E. STAUDENMAYER Commercial Trevose Heights Among other honors, Dot received two highly coveted 'posts' in her senior year - voted the Most Popular girl by her class and chosen May Queen by the student body. For three years Dot represented her class in the May Queens court and also for three years she was one of our peppy cheerleaders. Varsity hockey and basketball, Lion's Roar staff, Glee and Safety clubs made up her other activities. We will miss Dot and her cheerful disposition.

RICHARD TROTTEH General Huntingdon Valley 'Trot', one of our humorous and fun-loving classmates, was a member of the Leadership and Science Clubs and played on the class basketball and football teams. Rich tells us he is looking forward to serving inthe Air Force. We wish him well and hope he will continue to amuse his future friends as he has amused us. ROBERT TOMLINSON General Oakford lt's very logical that Bob,one of our more quiet and reserved classmates, should express a preference for good books, the guitar, and western music. Being quiet does not mean inactive, however, for Bob had two years of varsity football, enjoyed all class sports, and selected Science, Hi-Y, and Hunting and Fishing clubs. Carpentry is Boh's choice after graduation - and a good carpenter he'l1 be. SHIRLEY MARIE WALSH Commerc ial Huntingdon Valley 'Shirl' enjoyed a variety of things in her high school days. Her interests and talents ranged from hockey goalie and class sports to membership in the Safety, Spanish, and Clee clubs. She confesses a weakness for food, with hoagies as the only exception. We'll miss Shirl's merry smile and twinkle, but know they'll go with her wherever she goes. my-ff r . 5 AUDREY WEISSER Commercial Holland For a quiet person 'Oats' has a surprising interest - motorcycle riding, but then, of course, the motorcycle makes the noise. For her more sedate past-time, Audrey enjoys knitting - socks, in particular. Her club interests centered in Typing and Shop, while our basketball and softball intramural gained by Audrey's participation. The year- book staff appreciated her fine work in typing, too. Until home-making becomes her major concern, Audrey will be an efficient young business woman.
