This division is indicated on the shield by the Pennypack Creek, an historic stream bordering our community. On the banks of the Penny- pack is the grist mill, symbolizing the early industry of this section. On the lower half of the shield we find the scroll, which characterizes the early means of exchanging thought by the written and printed word, and the growing oak, symbolizing development and strength. Mounted on the top of the shield is a rampant lion taken from the crest of the Moore family. Nicholas Moore, a member of this family, received from William Penn the original grant of land of Moreland Manor, later to become Moreland Township. Supporting the shield is a Grecian lamp shedding rays of education and enlightenment. The entire seal is bound by an endless ribbon representing unity of purpose and effort. On this ribbon the identity of the seal is inscribed. DEDICATION LEARNING Is LIKE Rowmc- UP- STREAMQ STOR AND You DRIFT BACK. 'a IT IS TO THIS IDEA THAT we, THE CLASS or: l953. DIRECT oup. S X :r I D ANNA MAE ALLMON Commercial Huntingdon Valley Anne Mae has a special perky way that is all her own - and we like it. We also have liked the. way in which she entered into a variety of school activities - varsity hockey, intramurals, the Glee club and Choir, Safety Club and Lion's Roar. Anna Mae played an important part in all of these and still kept her cheerful disposition and friendly smile. Don't lose either of those valuable assets, Anna Mae! LORRAINE E. APPEL Commercial Feasterville Rainey's skill at dancing brought her much of the fun and the good times she so thoroughly enjoyed. Her popularity did the rest. For sports, Rainey found varsity hockey and basketball much to her liking. For her other activities, she preferred Safety and Cheerleading clubs and literary work on Lion's Roar and Elmleo. Here's to a happy life, Rainey! MILDRED AVENDER Commercial Rockledge To say that she is petite and neat, short and sweet, would well describe Millie. Typing was one of Millie's special interests and the yearbook staff was wise in selecting her to head that important department. Glee Club, too, enjoyed Millie's membership for three years - and all of us enjoyed her happy smile and manner. With so many good qualities, we know Millie is headed for success. KATHLEEN BELL Commercial Feasterville Many good and worth while things all rolled up into one - that's Kathy, a loyal classmate and a truly versatile person. Cheerleading captain, Clee club soprano soloist, class secretary, literary staff member of the Elmleo, and varsity basketball are just a 'taste of Kathy's many activities. We not only liked what Kathy did but the way she did things. Her personality and talent should take her far. GERTRUDE BERNREUTHER Academic R ockledge If Cert isn't laughing, then that isn't our Cert, for it is her happy disposition that has made her one of our best liked classmates. Typing and Glee clubs kept her busy but not so much so that she couldn't enjoy her hobbies - dancing, soccer games, good sax music, and traveling. We hope Cert's plans to be an elementary school teacher materialize for the lucky children who will have her as a teacher. DAVID BENSON Academic Huntingdon Valley Dave has two loves - tall stories and cars, but if he ever had to choose between them, we know that cars would be the choice, first, last, and always. Ever since Dave came to us in his sophomore year from Germantown High, he has been one of our 'hot-rod fans and one of our most easy-going and friendly classmates. With Dave's ability and experience we think his preference for auto mechanics is a good selection for his future work. MARIE BRANTIS Commercial Feasterville Marie is one of our petite, blonde members with a pleasing way that made her one of our more popular members as well. Marie's club choices included Cheerleading, Nurses Aid, and Clee, while dancing is tops on her out-of-school social calendar. Like so many of us, Marie is still undecided about her after-graduation plans but again, like so many of us, she hopes for the best. PAULINE JEAN BUBE C l'lmel'ClBl Hgckledge This peppy, fun-loving classmate of ours will be remembered for many things, but most of all for that spring in her toes and the sparkle in her eyes. Varsity basketball 123, cheerleading C25 and all class sports, in addition to swimming and her interest in Tri-lli-Y, kept. her active and on l...M.'s 'valuable student' list. We know that Pauline will take her fine sense of humor and gocd spirit all along the way. ,p WILLIAM G. COOPER ACBdBIl1iC Fessterville Although school was not to his liking 'Little Coop' kept himself and his appreciative friends in high good humor by his stunts and sly jokes. We'll remember with pleasure Bill's unique sense of humor. Sports also helped brighten Bill's school life and he put his heart into his playing. Varsity football and all intramurals were his. We wish the best for this little fellow with the generous gin. X.: THOMAS ASTLEY COOPER Academic Huntingdon Valley Astley made many valuable contributions to his class and school throughout high school. Putting them in a list is our only way of getting everything in - and an imposing list it is: high scholastic honors, pianist for chorus and orchestra, band member, literary staff of Elmleo, business editor of Lion's Roar, vice-president of the senior class, and an active participant in forums and debates. Only time will tell whether Astley's profession will he law or medicine. Regardless of his choice, we can count on his doing a fine job. JULIANN MARION CRIDER Academic Neshaminy Falls Although .I.C. never seemed to be in a hurry, she accomplished a great deal. As class secretary for three years, feature writer for Lion's Roar, art staff member of Elmleo, plus membership in Cheerleading, Clee, and Safety Clubs, she proved she wasn't idle, but definitely a capable worker. In ,I.C.'s chosen profession, nursing, we're sure she will continue to prove her worth. lbw.-I V ANITA JUNE DANENBERGER Commercial Huntingdon Valley ,Iune had the unique honor of guarding the class money for six years and keeping the books accurately balanced. In Glee Club, as a Student Council officer, and a member of varsity hockey and basketball, June further served her school in her own generous, sincere way. When ,Iune's plans to complete business school materialize, we envy the fortunate firm that adds June to its payroll. CARL DORSEY General Quiet, reserved, likeable Dorse made quite a record in his three years at L.M. by playing in all class sports and being a member of all the varsity teams. Student Council was an added activity in his senior year. If Carl has plans, he's not revealing them, but we'll know they will succeed. Bethayres 5 ANNAMARIE DIETERLE Academic Rockledge 'Tootsie' has the distinction of being one of the most musicalmembers of our class. To the chorus, orchestra, and band she has given faithful and willing service. To the Lion's Roar and yearbook, Annamarie devoted her literary talent, and on all too few occasions we enjoyed her special dancing talent in assembly programs. The yotmger generation will benefit by Annamarie's interest in music because her hope is to be MARGARET ANNE DUNBAR Academic Rockledge One of our most willing and dependable classmates, Peggy found many jobs to handle. As a senior, she was editor of the Lion's Roar and literary staff member of the yearbook. Safety, Typing, and Library clubs were he h ' . Sh r c oices e also wrote L.M. news for the local papers. Through all this, Peggy kept a high scholastic record. This and her V a teacher of music. A ... good spirit will serve her well in her college work and future career. RN 1 r A, . XX f NANCY LEE FATKIN Commercial Trevose Nancy joined us in September 1951 from Dobbins Vocational School and from the start we found her to be a friendly, pleasant, likeable person. Nancy was active in basketball and volleyball intramurals and was on the staff of the Lion's Roar. Nancy's love of fun, sharp clothes, dancing, and reading gives variety and spice to her busy life. As an efficient secretary Nancy will achieve even more success. L..-f g 5555! 5 ROBERT FLACK General Huntingdon Valley Bob has to his credit four years of varsity football and three years of basketball and baseball, which puts him in the top bracket of sports. Extending his interest in athletics, Bob joined the Cym Leadership club and was our Athletic Council representative. Farming or teaching physical education currently appeal to him as vocational possibilities. We know the fine spirit he showed in athletics will help him in his chosen work. KARL FREUND General Rockledge lf you think Karl is quiet, just mention guns or cars and you'll give him a head start on his two favorite subjects. lle has many interesting hunting stories to tell, all from first hand experience. Naturally, Karl was a member of the Hunting and Fishing club. He is fond, too, of going off in his car on unpremeditatedjaunts . If the wanderlust doesn't get too strong a grip on Karl, he'll settle down to do a fine job as a builder. JOAN RUTH FRITSCH Commercial Rockledge A friend in need is a friend ina'eea . Those who know ,loan know how true this is. Basketball was ,Ioan's favorite sportg she was one of its favorite varsity guards for three years and Captain in her Senior Year. Intramural volleyball and softball in addition to Glee, Cheerleading, Tri-Hi-Y, and Safety clubs kept ,Ioan busy and active. In everything Joan showed her sense of fair play and good humor. These are just two of the good qualities that will help ,loan in the business world. wif' ALLEN HALLETT General Huntingdon Valley We'll remember Allen flashing by us lus less fortunate pedestriansl on his motor-bike and waving gaily as he passed. llis ready smile and sense of humor will be remembered, too. Allen was a great reader but when he did talk he usually told us interesting stories of boats and boat races - a fitting background for the Navy career Allen anticipates. PEGCIE L. IPIAHN Commercial Trevose Heights When Peggy came to us this year from Germantown, she got right into the swin-g of things by joining the Lion's Roar staff and lending a helping hand in our class activities. Although we have known Peggy for such a short time, we do know that dancing, sports, and cooking are her special interests and that her pleasant personality has won her many friends. RICHARD HEARING Academic Huntingdon Valley On the football field and in our class activities, we always found Rich a valuable asset. He is an all-around good sport who has always been one of the real workers in our class. His fine work on the varsity football squad and on the business staff of the yearbook is proof of his sincere interest and ability. We look for nothing but success for Rich. He'll make a 'go' of whatever he tackles. EVELYN HENDERSON Academic Trevose Heights Lolly is a real friend and an all-around classmate, willing to help in so many school and class activities. Intramurals, Lion's Roar, Safety, Typing, and Glee clubs, and tireless decorating for class dances - through all these and more, Lolly kept her sunny smile. That plus her determined spirit should bring Lolly all the happiness she deserves. i' I B SHIRLIE JEAN HUGHES Commercial Feasterville Voted the most athletic, Shirlie proved that the voters were right - definitely. Varsity hockey f3l and captain in her senior year, basketball f2l, cheerleading, plus all intramurals prove her worth. Non-athletic activities included Tri-Hi-Y, chorus, and Lion's Roar staff. Stock car races, swimming, dancing, and sociable people fill Shirlie's happy days. WALTER R. JOHNSON, JR. General Feasterville Walt's philosophy seems to he 'live and let live' so long as cars and baseball are included. As a varsity baseball player for three years, he pitched many a victorious game and served the varsity basketball team as well. Hunting and Fishing, with Hi-Y, was his club preference. Professional baseball is in Walt's future if his hopes come true. F R E D H U S T E R Academic Rockledge Fred is the quiet kind of fellow who seems to wait for just the right time to add a witty or encouraging word. His friends know they can count on Fred for either. As an original member of the Hunting and Fishing club, he has done much to boost its popularity and value. Fred has reached no definite decision about his future, but we are assured his choice will be a well-considered one. WILLIAM JONES Academic Bethayres That worried frown you might have seen on a few occasions probably came from the weighty problems and countless duties Bill had as our class president for three years - a real record. Student Council, Science, Hunting and Fishing, yearbook work, and managing basketball also came in for their share of Bill's attention. In things mechanical and electric Bill has excelled and has always been a busy man with his out-of-school 'obs. We have good reason for thinking that Bill is l headed for success. HITA ELIZABETH KELLY Commercial Feasterville Rita has so many interests, she finds it difficult to make a decision in some matters. One burning question is 'Should I become a WAC ?' We can't settle Hit's problem for her but feel sure she will find a satis- factory solution. Is there anything from your experience in I..ion's Roar and Safety clubs or through your interest in skating and music that would help, Rita? BERNARD KEMMERLING Academic Feastefville Bernie has been our very active 'Mr. Photographer' for both the year- book and local papers, trying to get into his many shots some of the highlights of L.M.'s activities. Bernie has also been an active class member, serving well on those inevitable committees, and headed the Safety Patrol this year. Although math and science are Bernie's favorite subjects, he plans to make photography his vocation. K' C A I L K E R R Commercial Rockledge Gail is just about the smallest one in our class, but only in size - definitely not in ability. In her part-time work at Sears, Gail has proved herself a capable, efficient worker. In school, through her work in Safety, Lion's Roar, Arts and Crafts, and yearbook typing she proved her ability again and again.. Gail, with her many interests, will be concentrating on just one upon graduation - being a good private secretary. MARIANNE LENA KOOKE Academic Langhorne Kookie likes people - and they return the compliment. That's easy with Kookie's pleasing personality and warm smile. Hockey and basketball were her varsity sport interests and all the intramurals attracted her. She was a member of Chorus, Spanish and Art clubs and enjoyed photography as a hobby. After graduation Kookie hopes to do some traveling. NITA MARIA KRAUS A C ommercial Feasterville Anita joined us in our junior year when she came from Abraham Lincoln High. We welcomed her as an enthusiastic classmate who promptly became an active one, especially in Lion's Roar work and later in yearbook photography. Our class volleyball team claimed Anita as a member, also. Domestic life, rather than a business career, seems to appeal to Anita. In either, we vouch for a good job well done. EVELYN KULP Commercial Langhorne Ebby was always on hand when there was volleyball, a basketball game, or a swimming party. For quiet recreation Ehby preferred reading - and making plans for her home-to-be. Ebby's friends - and there are many of them - hope for nothing but happiness in her future. ARNOLD H. KREBS Academic Huntingdon Valley Arnold is a true Lower Morelandite, having begun his schooling in our own first grade. It was there, too, that he began the practice of ranking high in his class. Keeping on top scholastically didn't curb other activities because Arnold held the Presidency of Student Council, managed the basketball team, and was a member of the Chorus, band and orchestra. His interest in chemistry will be the foundation or starting point for his career. RUDOLPH F. KUBE General Feasterville With Rudy's quiet jokes and wit, his friends have few dull moments - and with all of Rudy's scientific interests, he has few idle moments. Television, radio, and model planes occupy this Rudy Kazooti of ours. Science and Art Clubs enjoyed his membership but Rudy never learned to enjoy algebra or English, he claims. Rudy is heading for the study of electronics in the Navy. DOLORES J. LACHOWSKI Commercial Rockledge Dolly, cute and likeable, came to us from Frankford High in her junior year. Since then she has been busy with class teams, cheerleading and Safety Clubs, and feature writing for the Lion's Roar. As a stenographer, Dolly will be a definite asset to any firm. Her future employers will appreciate her intelligence and winning ways as we have here at L.M. HERBERT LANGE Academic Rockledge Herb was the envy of many, chiefly because of his neat, handsome appearance and his way with the fair sex, but his talents and interests weren't limited to things sociable. Herb belonged to the Lion's Roar, Chorus, Hi-Y Club, yearbook business staff, and played intramurals. Farming and Fords are Herb's other interests. We're wondering where they will fit into the Navy career Herb is planning. SARAH MAY LAPIHUSKA Academic R ockledge Sally kept busy in many important ways - as a member of the varsity basketball team, art staff of the yearbook, and typist for the Lion's Roar. Class sports and Art Club were a few of her other school activities plus the duties her academic schedule involved. If you ever are hospitalized, we hope you'll be lucky enough to have Sally as your nurse. KARL D. LIEBOLD General Bethayres Karl is another member of our class whose interest is in the U.S. Navy, and if the Navy appreciates Karl as we do, the interest will be mutual. His chief interest was in the Science Club, but baseball and basketball also claimed him as a squad member. We hope for a happy future for this tall, blonde, pleasant classmate of ours. EDWARD LISS, JR. Academic Rockledge Ed's variety of talents brought him into many phases of school life and work. Varsity football C3l, basketball CD, and class sports gave him a chance to prove his athletic ability, while his artistic talents were put to good use in his work as art editor of the yearbook. He was vice- president of Hunting and Fishing and a member of Hi-Y. The girls especially will remember 'Junie s' smooth dancing. With Ed's dis- position, we rather expect the future sailing to be smooth, too. ELLEN T. MARCERISON Commercial Rockledge Ellen was voted by the seniors as the nicest looking girl in their class - and with good reason. She didn't believe that 'beauty is its own excuse for being', however, for her activities were many - literary editor of the yearbook, Lion's Roar reporter, Clee Club, class basket- ball aud volleyball, and the honor of being a May Queen attendant for two years and maid of honor in her senior year. Sociable Ellen enjoys going places and seeing things. We wish her well in her future secretarial work. ANET ELLEN MARSHALL J Academic Trevose Heights We think of Janet as another one of our real workers, for she was ever ready to help in our class activities and sports. Varsity hockey and intramurals kept her busy when she wasn't already occupied with the work of the Lion's Roar, Safety and Typing clubs. Dancing, music, sewing, and skating occupy her few leisure moments. Good luck to our popular friend. A LIC E M A Y E H Commercial Rockledge Alice did things in a quiet, efficient way that won ber the reputation of being one of our more reliable, serious workers - which she was. For relaxation and fun, Alice's first choice is dancing, closely followed by listening to her record collection or seeing a good movie. Her club membership was in the Typing, Home Nursing, and Chorus groups. We can be assured of Alice's success in secretarial work. KENNETH McCAW Academic Huntingdon Valley Ever since Kenny came to L.M. in his sophomore year, 'Ken McCaw and 'basketball' have been synonymous. Kenny won his letters that year and has been one of the main stays of the varsity squad ever since. Cartooning is another talent of Kenny's and we've enjoyed many a laugh with him about his 'originals' - iwitness the yearbook caricaturesl. The future holds excitement for this quick, witty, daring classmate of ours. JOANNE HELEN McKEOWN Commercial Bethayres Althouigh Joanne joined us rather late in her high school career, she waste no time in becoming an active member of the Safety Club, Elmleo Staff, and the Lion's Roar. Her athletic interests were in class volleyball, basketball, and at Notre Dame, varsity softball for two years. As with many of our classmates, Joanne's plans for the future are indefinite but we can guarantee success. E V E L Y N O N S A Academic Bryn Athyn There's something special about Evelyn - a quality all her own. lt could be the sparkle in her eye as she 'concocts' one of her original ideas or the witty comments she makes or even the questions she asks so demurely. There's something special, too, in her service to the school - Student Council Qfour yearsl, Lion's Roar work, varsity hockey- and basketball, and editor of the Elmleo. There couldn't be apything but an especially happy future for this popular classmate o ours. JOAN EILEEN PLATTS Commercial Feasterville A friendly, ready smile - and often an accompanying contagious giggle - brought many friends Joan's way and brightened an otherwise dull day for many of her classmates. Typing, Home-Nursing, and Clee clubs found in her an active, able member. With her love of movies, aniusement parks, and fun in general, naturally Joan didn't look with favor upon homework. Her plans? She thinks office work will be the thing. RICHARD W. PLETCHER General Betbayres A winning smile, dimples, and a friendly 'hello' make a good combi- nation - Rich's combination. Science and lli-Y made up Hiclfs club combination, while discussion of hot-rods and cars in general occupied much of his talk and thoughts. Rich feels certain that the Navy will be the next step after graduation. We hope there will be smooth sailing for Rich in that career and in any others to follow. JENNIE MAY REAHM Commercial Feasterville One of Germantown High's best workers and nicest students joined us in her junior year to become, in her senior year, the able business manager of our Elmleo. Class sports were also Cinny's pleasure, as were swimming and skating. Ginny's interest in home decorating will be put to good use soon we understand. Our best wishes for the future go with Ginnyl ROBERT ROGERS General Trevose Heights This is the man who usually had charge of the 'record department , providing us with music both sweet and hot as the occasion demanded. His interest in music extended to the Penndel String Band of which he was an active member. For clubs, Rog chose Typing and Science. Although we usually found him on the quiet side, we enjoyed his humor and approved his spare time pursuits - swimming and fishing. FRED G. SEGANTI, JR . General Feasterville Fritz put sports at the head of his likes - and we can see why. He was a varsity football player for four years, a member of the varsity basket- ball squad, and team member of all class sports. In keeping with that fine record and his sport interest, Fred selected Hunting and Fishing Club all through high school. Automobiles, too, seem to have a special fascination for Fritz. We predict a bright and happy future for this popular friend of ours. -.1-. 14 1,11 ,,.s k, f5,g,l.,,.:: .4 -ik. J - ri K. ' ' ' , .N .sigh i, R .iq CHARLES E. SHAFER Academic Rockledge 'Corky' was friendly and well-liked by all- but that's just the beginning because he was active and able as well in a variety of things. These included varsity football, basketball, Hi-Y and Hunting 8: Fishing clubs, with dancing and model trains as his out-of-school interests. No wonder Charlie found little time for French! Charlie will find many more good times and success as he goes along through life. F R A N K S 0 R AC E General Huntingdon Valley We'll always remember with pleasure Frank's friendly nature, his contagious grin, and his willingness to help his class and classmates. Frank played intramural football, basketball, and softball with zip and ability. His interest in guns naturally led him to choose Hunting and Fishing Club first, but the Chorus and Elmleo staff also received his help. 'l'here's a real place in the future for Frank. CATHERINE ESTHER SPERLING Academic Trevose Heights Being a helpful, willing worker for her class Qremember all those dance and homeroom decorations?D made Cathy a valued friend and classmate. Her activities included Safety Club Gil and all intramurals for the four years, including the speedball championship game. In her lighter moments, Cathy chooses dancing and skating. For a career, nursing is her current choice. MARIE LAUREL SPONHEIMER Commercial Rockledge We welcomed Dukie in her junior year when she came to L.M. from South Philadelphia High. The Lion's Roar ha benefited by her efficient typing ever since and we have enjoyed her friendly, cheerful ways. Marie has many hobbies and interests - home decorating, crocheting, and collecting pictures. In her future work as a telephone operator, hers will really be the 'voice with a smile'. ' va 1 A e , or eee it L. prr 1 at DOROTHY E. STAUDENMAYER Commercial Trevose Heights Among other honors, Dot received two highly coveted 'posts' in her senior year - voted the Most Popular girl by her class and chosen May Queen by the student body. For three years Dot represented her class in the May Queens court and also for three years she was one of our peppy cheerleaders. Varsity hockey and basketball, Lion's Roar staff, Glee and Safety clubs made up her other activities. We will miss Dot and her cheerful disposition. WILLIAM J. STRANIX General Huntingdon Valley Bill's good looks and equally good disposition give him a head start in any situation and help him keep the popularity he wins and deserves. Sports featured in Bill's activities, with three years of intramural football, softball, and basketball to his credit. Hunting and Fishing and Hi-Y were the choice clubs. In the Navy career Bill plans we know he'll go far. 1 k fi NANCY RUTH SWING Commercial Rockledge Nancy's chuckles never failed to brighten and lighten the atmosphere, and we welcomed her contagious laughter. She gave her serious attention to Typing and Glee clubs, however, and helped her class in basketball intramurals. Movies and classical music are two of her favorite diver- sions. Nancy seeks success in the business world after graduation. MARLIN TAYLOR General Feastervil le Marlin, another record playing man and partner in the firm of Taylor and Rogers, eats and sleeps in terms of electronics and his future work in television. It is appropriate that Marlo's club interest has been the Science group and that his service to the school has been through his work with the record player and movie projectors. The future has many opportunities for our scientific Marlo. JOY MAY TILGHMAN Commercial Huntingdon Valley 'Tillie' became a good friend to some of us as far back as first grade and she has continued to be a loyal friend since then. Her many club interests included Tri-Hi-Y, Art, Shop, Science, Junior Red Cross, and Glee. She was also on the Lion's Roar staff. Fashion design is Tillie's choice for a future career and it should be a highly successful one. RICHARD TROTTEH General Huntingdon Valley 'Trot', one of our humorous and fun-loving classmates, was a member of the Leadership and Science Clubs and played on the class basketball and football teams. Rich tells us he is looking forward to serving inthe Air Force. We wish him well and hope he will continue to amuse his future friends as he has amused us. ROBERT TOMLINSON General Oakford lt's very logical that Bob,one of our more quiet and reserved classmates, should express a preference for good books, the guitar, and western music. Being quiet does not mean inactive, however, for Bob had two years of varsity football, enjoyed all class sports, and selected Science, Hi-Y, and Hunting and Fishing clubs. Carpentry is Boh's choice after graduation - and a good carpenter he'l1 be. SHIRLEY MARIE WALSH Commerc ial Huntingdon Valley 'Shirl' enjoyed a variety of things in her high school days. Her interests and talents ranged from hockey goalie and class sports to membership in the Safety, Spanish, and Clee clubs. She confesses a weakness for food, with hoagies as the only exception. We'll miss Shirl's merry smile and twinkle, but know they'll go with her wherever she goes. my-ff r . 5 AUDREY WEISSER Commercial Holland For a quiet person 'Oats' has a surprising interest - motorcycle riding, but then, of course, the motorcycle makes the noise. For her more sedate past-time, Audrey enjoys knitting - socks, in particular. Her club interests centered in Typing and Shop, while our basketball and softball intramural gained by Audrey's participation. The year- book staff appreciated her fine work in typing, too. Until home-making becomes her major concern, Audrey will be an efficient young business woman. ROLLEN A WHITE Academic Feasterville Looking for something unusual different, and humorous? Check with Whitey for that s Just what he s looking for, too, to add some spice to life Varsity football class sports Science and Hi-Y clubs plus a full academic schedule kept Whitey busy, but not so busy that he couldnt enjoy his hobbies and his friends. We know he will handle ELIZABETH WIEDEMANN Academic Huntingdon Valley Shortly after Liz Joined us from Brazil she became our language expert and one of our favorite classmates She, also, was one of our scholastic experts and we basked in reflected glory. Music and ballet dancing are tvto of Elizabeth s chief interests. After a short period of travel this accomplished classmate of ours looks forward to college and her field of concentration political science and languages. DOLORES PAULINE WERNERT Commercial Trevose Heights With Dee there are no dull moments but plenty of talk, fun, and real school spirit. Her activities were numerous - varsity hockey 121, basketball Ill, cheerleading K3l, and all class Sports, Shop Club, and sports writer for Lion's Roar. Dancing, sports, and clothes are on Dee's mind a great deal, too. In the future, being an efficient secretary will be Dolores' main concern. e i - RICHARD WOEHR Academic Rockledge Rich has set high goals for himself, and in his quiet, intelligent way is heading directly toward them. He has enjoyed a full academic pro- gram, complete with those extra-curricular activities that were his specialties - the orchestra, band, business department of the yearbook, and the Fellowship Club. To all these, Rich gave his serious attention. When Rich achieves his ambition of becoming a physician, his patients will be in good hands. ALAN C. WORTHINGTON General Huntingdon Valley To some, Alan gave the impression of being on the quiet side, but from good authority we find that it was just the serious thoughts of school that made him seem so. Alan's love of sports brought him varsity foot- ball standing and a place on all the intramural teams throughout senior high. His chief club interest was the Chorus.
