Kathrine L. Metzger College Preparatory Huntingdon Valley With Kitty Lou's sparkling eyes and radiant smile, is it any wonder why she is everybody's friend! As captain of the 1949 Warrioretts and Varsity guard in basketball, Kitty Lou proved to possess real sports ability. She was an outstand- ing member in the Safety Patrol and Glee Clubs. As co-editor of the yearbook and a valuable Lion's Roar member, Kitty's conscientious work made her an import- ant member of our class. So to this very helpful miss, we wish continued success in her college work at West Chester preparing for teaching Knot Frenchj.--that is, if marriage doesn't interfere. 1 Robert Charles Nankerville General Rockledge Athletic, friendly, and ambitious--that's our Bob, otherwise known as Romeo. Bob came to us in our sophomore year and became our class presi- dent in our senior year. He participated in all class sports, and was a member of the Athletic Cotmcil, I-li-Y, and Glee Club. Three major sports, basketball, base- ball, and football--claimed Bob's special attention and in all these varsity teams he was a valuable player. Bob is thinking of professional baseball as a career. Whether it's to be that or something else, Bob will find success and friends be- cause he's certainly got what it takes. Robert Ortlip General Feasterville Lower Moreland football fans are going to miss Mort who played varsity for three years. Sometimes when Mort was in the thick of things on the football field we found it difficult to think of him as the good-natured, happy-go-lucky, friendly fellow we lmew in the classroom. Mort has told us he enjoyed concentrating hard in Glee and Home Economic Clubs--and on sports and having a good time--but definitely was not interested in rising early in the morning or deep books. That's another reason we know for Mort's having lots of company and good friends. Elmer G. Propert General Bethayres When we think of Senator Cshort for Senator Claghornj we always think ofa reserved, quiet fellow who never asked for recognition for the many helping hands he extended to us during his years at L. M. Remember the wonderful help he was with our two plays--right on hand behind the scenes ready with hammer or paint- brush? Even though he insisted he disliked school, he apparently accepted his fate with good will and brightened the otherwise dull days by keeping his car in tip-top condition, enjoying Science Club,or by going hunting. And what is Senator's am- bition? He says he's think it over.

John McDonnell, Jr. College Preparatory Feasterville Fred McCurry General Philadelphia Tim, our envied classmate with a new and different car each week Cwell-- almostll, came to L. M. from Northeast High in his junior year. His interest and ability in athletics led him into varsity football, basketball, and baseball, with the honor of being captain of the 1949 football team. Tim's appearance and per- sonality go well with those smooth Studebakers he sports. That tall blue eyed blond you ve seen so much in action in varsity sports is Mac. I-Ii-Y president, captain of the 1950 basketball championship team, and our class president as we began senior high school, were other active spots. Varsity baseball and football also benefitted by Mac's athletic prowess. In our classes Mac was active too, especially in discussing the pro's and con's of any debatable topic. Here's hoping that our good friend Mac will continue to be ft leader he was in our class. Arthur R. McKnight Academic Huntingdon Valley Babe will always be remembered as one of our funniest funnymen . Jokes, tricks, and plots were either cornlng or going in Babe's direction, but on every occasion he was always a good sport. Babe's chief school and class ac- tivities centered around Science Club and Safety Patrol, class teams, and a hilar- ious role in our Junior Play. We hear from a reliable source that Babe's a golf fan--and a good one, another hot rod devotee, an amateur photographer. fOf course, we know why he hasn't photographed Mr. Hoke's office.J Plans for the future aren't too definite yet in Babe's mind, but we wish him the best. Doris Adelene McKnight Commercial Huntingdon Valley Always polite, always cheery, usually quiet, but never dreary. Doris generally follows this enviable pattern in almost everything she does--and every- thing she does is done with enthusiasm and sincerity. Her special interests in- cluded Glee and Tri-Hi-Y Clubs and membership on the Lion's Roar staff. She has told us, too, that she enjoys golf, swimming, and embroidering in her leisure time. We predict a rosy future for this pleasant, well-mannered friend of our high school days.

Nancy Jane Riley Commercial Huntingdon Valley Claude Raudenbush Academic Holland Snapper, aided and abetted by his pals, was usually in the process of carrying out a practical joke or thinking up another one. However. his hyper- active sense of humor didn't interfere with his good work as football manager. his active interest in all intramural sports, or his duties on Safety Patrol. Horse back riding, hot rods, and the weaker sex are other real interests. What of flat tires, Snapper? Our popular class secretary found time and energy to participate in cheer- leading, varsity basketball, Glee Club, Safety Patrol and to 'serve as feature ed- itor of the Lionls Roar and literary staff member of the Elmleo. Nancy's pleasing personality, attractive appearance, enthusiasm, and interest in class and school activities probably contributed much to the honor she received of being elected Maid of Honor to the May Queen and will contribute to a successful future. Joan Evelyn Shick Commercial Trevose Although Joan was one of our most quiet members, she was sociable and well- liked by all. Joan participated in intramural basketball, Glee and Safety Clubs. and was an eagle eye proofreader of the Lion's Roar staff. She tells us she enjoys winter sports, radio, hospital work, and meeting nice people. That combination should make for a happy, busy life, we think. Gordon E. Sickel General Trevose Even though he's quiet, and with the girls a little shy, behind his back they whisper, Our Gordy's one swell guy! Gordy proves our case that a fellow doesn't have to be a football hero or a Romeo to be popular with the fair sex. The baseball diamond was Gordy's favorite spot--and the pitcher's mound in partic- ular. Soccer and basketball kept him interested, too, but nothing proved quite so interesting as cars and electrical work. Gordy thinks he'5 headed forthe electrical business--a fine business for a fine fellow.
