Carl B. Kramer General Feasterville Joyce Kenagy Collese P1'9Pafaf01'Y Huntingdon Valley Joyce was one of our class members who often kept us guessing about what was going on in that attractive head of hers. We didn't have to guess, of course, about her winning smile or top-notch scholastic ability--they were evidentnas was her interest in the Typing and Safety Clubs and basketball. We know, too, that math and movies rate high with Joyce but routine homework and bragging are on her cannot tolerate list. As Joyce continues her formal education, we can well imagine that she'll whip off term papers with the same ease and in the same fine style as those excellent sport write -ups she did for the Lion's Roar. Lefty one of our most easy-going and well-liked classmates, is a rugged individual--in more ways than one. I-le could spend hours in varsity football drills and scrimmage and set out for a long walk home ffrom the bus stopl with that long easy stride, showing not a trace of fatigue. His ability didn't end with football or class sports, for we'd usually count on Lefty for a poster or two when our class needed some artistic publicity for one of their many projects. At present, Lefty's ambition is to own a large dairy farm, but we think that cars and their parts may enter into the plan somewhere. Whatever it is, we know he'1l get there. Donald R. Kurz General Rockledge Don, better known as Cecil , is ahappy-go-lucky,good-natured fellow who has participated in all class sports--basketball, football, baseball, track and volley ball. For clubs, Don chose Hi-Y and Dramatic. His likes are stock car races and girls, his dislikes are long walks to Trevose and studying. Cecil's hobbies are jerking sodas and raising dogs, but his chief concern is getting a car. Don intends to be an electrician in the very near future. Gertrude Anna Lange Academic Rockledge Giggling, fun-loving Gert hopes to someday settle down and be a nurse, with her training at Jefferson Hospital. Her interest in chemistry and hospital work will help her in this program. Tri-Hi-Y, Typing, Safety and Glee Clubs gained by her membership. She was on the art staff of the yearbook and literary staff of the Lion's Roar. Like so many of us, Gert's chief trial was getting up in time for school, but she wasted no time once she arrived. Good luck to a good worker.

Joseph Fred Hesson General Feasterville Joe, who came to us from Mastbaum in his junior year, has many interests and hobbies. He took part in softball intramurals and football, was a member of Hi-Y and Science Clubs, and intends some day to join the Navy. Naturally, .Toe has his lighter moments, but when the subject is photography, he is all business YNQBSH '25 fx .17 C C ft. ' aa Ralph Henry Hofmann College Preparatory Rockledge Henry's inclinations and talents point to a career in science. The girls aren't so sure that Henry's special little wink is strictly scientific, but if gl-BIS 1'6- sults in good formula fashion. When you read of his activities here you'll soon see why he was voted most studious and most likely to succeed: class sports, one year of varsity football, photography staff of yearbook, Science, Typing, and Hi-Y Clubs, and fwe're saving the best 'til lastl--vice-president of Student Council in his junior year, followed by the presidency in his senior. You see now how that vote came about? Leonard Holmquist Academic Rockledge When its fishing, trapping, or presiding as president of the Hunting and Fish- ing Club this out-door sports lover of ours is dead serious--as he was in his work with the Hi-Y and Science Clubs. But there's another side to this unpredictable friend of ours--a much lighter side that keeps the girls guessing, and his pals in high good humor. Dutch really has a way with him--the kind of way we admire and envy. His ambition? He's headed for college to prepare for food technology. Eleanor Hyndman Commercial Feasterville Here and there--into this and into that-- acheery word to one andall--that's El. To boil down some of El's activities, we have her listed as one of the feature writers of Lion's Roar, literary editor of the yearbook, varsity hockey and junior varsity basketball team member, and a member of Tri-Hi-Y and Glee Clubs. El says she loves people, animals, sports, and eating. That coversalot of territory-- but El can do just that.

Marjorie A. Lel-luquet College Preparatory Oakford Margie certainly has been one of our class assets as far as sports is con- ce rned. She's played three years of both basketball and hockey, participated in all class sports, and also in cheerleading for two years. Is it any wonder she was voted most athletic! Her non-athletic activities included active membership in the Glee Club, Choir, and Tri-Hi-Y of which she was a secretary. Margie's chief ambition is to be a nurse, and if she puts into that profession all the enthusiasm and effort she has shown in high school, we know her patients will not mind being hospitalized. Joan Katherine Leldahl College Preparatory Feasterville Quiet Joan, smiling pleasant, and sociable, participated in basketball intramurals, Glee Club, Safety Patrol, and was a member of the sports depart- ment of the Lion's Roar. Her favorite hobby is photography and her main interest lies in writing. Some of .Toan's dislikes are homework and bugs, while she especially enjoys all sports and dancing. All of us wish her the success she well deserves in her future teaching career. William Thomas Lodge General Bryn Athyn Friendly, always laughing, and having a special relish for trapping, dancing and hot rods--that seems to sum up Bill. His active part as a senior member in- cluded participation in varsity basketball and our class sports, membership in the Science Club, and holding the office of vice-president in our Student Council. Of course, there is always some special something with which we associate Our classmates and with Bill it was his vim on the varsity basketball team. As for those coming post-graduation days, Bill's inclinations are towards plumbing. I-Iere's hoping you find a leaky faucet now and then Bill,--good luck with it too. Jean MacMurtrie Commercial Rockledge With her giggles and jokes, Jeanie is really a handful for Charles. But if we look more closely at the handfu11 we find behind her light hearted ways another active senior who was always willing to do her share. As Glee Club accompanist Jeanie proved you can play anything put before you. Jeanie's 'foutside interest , however, brought her real distinction since she became the first and only senior girl to be engaged las of December 19491. No wonder we hear so much of housework, knitting, and baking pies! Good housekeeping, to you and Charley!
