Because he lends a helping hand, He'll always remain a ladies' man. Although Tom assures us that he dislikes school in any form, he joined in the work and play of sclnol life in a creditable way. VERNA JUNE LEEDOM Commercial Bethayres, Pa. Vivacious Verna full of fun. . . Her presence is enjoyed by everyone. Verna always seemed to be able to find time for just one more activity. Glee Club, Safety Patrol, serving on class committees, assisting with class plays, typing for the Lion's Roar, being on the Elmleo staff kept Vema busy when she wasn't leading cheers or dashing down the hockey field to tally a goal for the team. DONALD LEHUQUET Academic Oakford, Pa. Since Don possesses a two-track mind, Answers for him are easy to find. joe is one of those easy-going, good-natured fellows with an even disposition. General Huntingdon Valley, Pa. Liz with his cute little curls Likes to be where there are girls. Liz can check off three years of varsity basketball and baseball to his credit plus football in his senior year. We can check off even more to Liz's credit-his flair for art, his participation in Glee Club and his unexpected comments. With his easy, likeable ways, Liz will never want for friends. RICHARD GR IFFITH MENGEL General Rockledge, Pa. Always has a bright smile That makes everyday worth while. Rich's participation in varsity basketball, football, and baseball should be good experience for the fulfillment of his ambition-to be coach of athletics. His interests weren't limited to sports, however, since he was a member of the Senior play cast, Glee Club, Student Council, and Hi-Y. Classical music, too, is among Rich's likes, but homework was definitely not. Rich's pleasant personality and easy as- surance will help him along the road to success.

BARBARA JEANNE PAUL C0mmCfCi21 Trevose, Pa. She dances like a leaf, sings like a thrush, She's bold as the north wind, and sweet as a blush. There are many complimentary things we could say about Babs. We will remember with pleasure and pride her four years as class secretary, her work in the Tri-Hi-Y where she served as secretary and later president,, her acting ability as seen in our two class plays, and her playing right inner on the hockey championship team of 1948. No wonder Babs was voted most popular! Let's not forget she also was our May Queen. ERMA LOUISE PENNYPACKER Commercial Langhorne, Pa. Erma is a cheerful lass- The shortest member of our class. Our friend Erma was always ready to lend a hand and it was always an eflicient one. Herinterests and talents were varied-ranging from her work as assistant editor of Elmleo, her membership in Glee, Safety, and Tri-Hi-Y Clubs, to her playing halfback on the hockey team for two years. Although Erma insists she dislikes homework, she always was one of our A honor roll students. JOHN PINKERTON, JR. Academic Rockledge, Pa. Never study, never worry- Take life easy. What's the hurry. Happy-go-lucky john, always has room for one more in his station wagon. If ever you want a ride to the games, just ask Pinky . He liked sports, playing baseball, and football, but never mention homework to this lad. After graduation john would- like to make the Navy his career. Perhaps john's experience with sailboats and races on the briny deep had something to do with this choice of career. MIRIAM A. Academic Bethayres, Pa. PLETCHER Willing to lend a helping hand Thatls why we think Mimi's grand. Friendly, dependable Mimi is always full of fun and ready to offer a helping hand. She played varsity hockey for four years and basketball for three years, was a cheerleader, and had a leading role in the junior and Senior plays. Among her likes are sports and school, but fickle girls and onions are strictly out. As editor-in-chief of the Lion's Roar and a member of the Elmleo business staff, Mim showed her execu- tive ability. She was chosen May Day attendant for two years. Her ambition? To prepare for a career in teaching physical education.
