1' GRQWTI-l Lower Moreland High School has witnessed in the past three years a spectacular growth. Some of our dreams were realized by the addition of two new rooms on the second floor during the summer of 1939, and by the erection of a new gymnasium in the term of 1940- l94l. ln our spacious new building are shower, locker, and storage rooms, and a large room that will be used for either a class room or a music room. Portable bleachers afford seating facilities for more than 500 persons. The old gym- nasium will be used for the industrial arts classes. Another evidence of growth in our school program was the renewal of foot- ball and hockey as fall sports. Both sports had been discontinued for several years, but with the season of 1940, Lower Moreland again entered league competi- tion in these popular sports. These addi- tions to our athletic program, together with the newly constructed gymnasium, afford a greater variety in our schoo1's physical education department. The students are indeed grateful to the school officials for making possible these im- provements. The community is also witnessing growth. Many new homes have been built and even new communities are planned for the vicinity. With new families moving into our district we can see that our school must meet the needs of the time, therefore we feel that Lower Moreland will continue to grow and to provide even better facilities for the students of the future.
