TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT Technical students were interested in the industrial arts contests sponsored by the Ford Motor Company. Eight of the projects that withstood the rigors of the Philadelphia show won gold medals for fine craftsman- ship and excellent design at the national exhibition in Dearborn, Michigan. Field trips to Westiiighotise, General Electric, Bald- win, Budd Manufacturing, and the Ford assembly plants revealed to the juniors and seniors the import- ance of Delaware Valley manufacturing to our national economy. Algebra I, plane geometry, Algebra II, solid geometry, and trigonometry are the courses offered. Lower Merion offers courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and general science and provides every opportunity for a student to prepare himself so that he may help meet the present-day increasing demand for scientists in all fields.
