A ll ll I l I' ll gl 'I' I lll Une afternoon a month, traditionally the third Monday, the members of the Faculty Council having completed their individual day's tasks. relax pleas- antly over refreshments, then settle down to serious work. As each department in the school is repre- sented on the council, problems of every conceivable phase of school life are introduced, discussed, solved. or prepared for presentation at the next general faculty meeting or to the student body, depending upon the type of question involved. Should every problem coming before the faculty or the student body be discussed by these entire groups, endless time would be consumed. This small committee quickly finishes the ground work and eliminates unessentials. Thus the Faculty Council represents the opinions and needs of the student body and the faculty: it strives for the best of every- thing for Lower Merion and all Lower Merionites. EVLA BAER. To the more than nineteen hundred students of Lower Merion who are in the armed forces of the United States all over the world lighting for the preservation of the four freedomsl XVe who administer the business of Lower Merion School District are striving to maintain those freedoms as prescribed by the founding fathers of our nation, and to prepare our students to take their proper place in the administration of these freedoms in the future as we have in the past. XYe hold that these freedoms can best be main- tained through a thorough system of free education, and to this end we dedicate our efforts. li. lil.
