Senior C lass History On the beautiful morning of August 30, 1943 a strange incident was taking place in Lower Mahanoy,Township High School. At the entrance to the magnificent building of education stood a group of green Freshmen. Our knees trembled, our brows were furrowed with anxiety. Our lives had suddenly become rich and bountiful. Ahead of us lay many trials and tribulations. Many of our class members were to become restless and drop off along the way. When we entered our Freshman year there were thirty-four mem- bers in our class. The following people withdrew from our class at the end of the term: Boyd Lenker, Clair Border, Lamar Heintzelman, Eve- lene Ramer. Thus ended the Freshman year. Then came our Sophomore year, the word Sophomore meaning wise fools which no other class could have deserved more readily than ours. The following people withdrew from the class at the end of the term: George Zeiders, Annabelle Schaffer, Audrey Latshaw, which left twenty-seven members in the class. Thus ended the Sophomore year. Our Junior year held a little more excitement for us because of our Junior class play, which was entitled Silas Sniidge from Tiirnip Ridge. Our play proved such a success, it was booked for a second performance for the American Legion. Before the term of our Junior class began, Dean Troutman left to join the Navy. We received one new member in our class, Leon Hooper. This completed our Junior year. This, our Senior year, we are very far advanced. We have already held our Senior class play which was entitled Life Begins At Sixteen. Before the term of our Senior year began Leon Hooper left our class to join the Marines. We received one new member in our class, Lucille Witmer. We are looking forward to many more exciting events of this, our Senior year. -Doris Schlegel CLASS OFFICERS President .......,........ .......,.....,...........,.,...,,....,........,....,....., D EAN BOHNER Vice President ...............,..... , .,..,.,..
