Assemblles Our school assemblles th1s past Veal were thc b1ggest and best s111ce we entered 1u111o1 h1g,h school 111 the suenth grade The ma1n factor was that we had xcqulred our 11ew gymnaslum It made posslble the brmgmg here of world tlmous speakers Our f1rst speaker th1s year was Dorothy Waldo Phllllps who d1scussed youth and youth problems Her ad11ce to the students was greatly apprec1ated M Pxxson of the Industrlal lnstltutc 111troduced to us Mr Kaamaler and Dr Ford Mr Kd7md19F spoke of hls travels throughout the world Hls mterestmg speech brought much comment because he spoke of ex ents beh1nd the Iron Cllltdlll and 1n Korea Dr Ford of New York spoke on the students lex el a11d dlscussed thelr problems w1th them We were xerv fortunate ln h ulng these speakers come to our school projector Wlth It new and better f1lms were shown It was used not only for assemblles but also for the noon day lu11ch perlod Under the supervlslon of Mr Zerbonla wc had popular mov1es The freshman class vnth thelr sponsor Mr Meehan presented a xerv successful assembly by sponsormg an amateur show of some of our students WVl'11Ch was conducted by Youngstowns famous Dlsc Jockey Dan Ryan Thls assembly showed that there IN much talent 111 our school Another lnterestlng assembly sponsored by Mr Meehan was the br1ng1ng here of Mr Barton pr1nc1pal of Poland Hlgh School and three Poland students They talked on student government and 1tS adx antages Th1s assembly helped xery much Ill trymg to get student gox ernment started lll Loxxellxllle The assemblles ment1oncd are the malll ones that were held throughout the year They were not only educatlonal but also a pleas ure We hope that the asscmbhes of the next school year w1ll carry on vs here these h ue left oft 1nd co11t111ue to be a great success . 1 1 Sk.
