PEP RALLIE he annual fall outdoor pep rally was held in September to recognize and encourage all the participants in fall sports. It was held in Lucy Larcom Park. The band and cheerleaders were present to drum up school spirit. Senior class president Tina Coulouraaas and Head Loud- mouth Andrea Mitchell emceed the event. Each varsity team was called up to the concert platform. The coaches or captains introduced all the athletes by name and then asked the crowd for their support. Sounds of music and enthusisatic cheers filled the air. Our next rally was staged in the field house prior to the traditional Thanks- giving Lowell!Lawrence football game. Confetti and pom poms were in abundance. Coach Nelson presented each member of his squad and the cheerleaders performed in inimitable fashion to a standing room only crowd. h March saw a rally, held to psych up the student body on behalf of the boys'basketball team. The Raiders were to meet Durfee High School at Boston Garden in the semi-final game of the Division I State Tourney. As LHS fans eagerly cheered the players on, Coach Ryan led them in the sing- ing ofthe school's fight song, while the cheerleaders presented their award winning dance routine. 14 X OPENING gm 1'
