INTERNATIONAL AN GUAGE CLUB he International Language Club opened the school year with a Fall Picnic to welcome new members and also launched a fund raiser through the sale of magnets. Modestly speaking, some ofthe best parties are hosted by this group. They present a gala Christmas Dinner featuring holiday food specialties from many lands, as well as traditional and inter- national music and games. The breaking of the pinata highlights the evening. Chapter presentations are made on a regular basis, at which times each chapter's langu- age is highlighted by a film, a lecture on customs or the country itself, and by ethnic refreshments. During In- ternational Language Club Week, members and their parents prepared a gourmet international dinner. Many of those attending wore costumes from foreign lands and danced to the music of those countries. Prizes were awarded for the best outfits. During this same week, the club actively participated in the Hands Across the City evening which was a well attended cultural and so- cial sucess. A great debt is owed to Mrs. Claudette Boisjoly, the ILC advisor, who helped to make the year so pleasant. SL it 'CII 136 ! I.L.C.
