f tif ' 'eta r it-1: , .. Q, .. ,ii LlSTElNllNG AREA Dedication Three years ago three men met to discuss the lack of spirit and interest in Lowell High School and possible solutions. They felt that if nothing were done to boost spirit, LHS would become a void in everyone's life. This meeting of lack Reilly, Ken Wallace, and Peter Stamas was the beginning of Friends of Lowell High, Inc. Friends of Lowell High is a support organization open to all concerned citizens. Starting with a twelve person steering N3 committee, Friends has grown to 700 members this year. Membership is built around twenty various sub-committees representing almost every activity and sport of the school. Since its beginning, Friends of Lowell High has raised 534,000 through its student dances, annual fall talent shows, and annual Memorial Day flea markets and road races. With this money, Friends has given numerous scholarships on Honor Day and also several i banquets to recognize all participants of sports as well as those who excel in other areas. Many of us owe a great deal to Friends of Lowell High. They have rekindled spirit in the school, not only among students and their parents, but also throughout the Lowell area. - As we reflect over the past four years, we can feel that our days have meant something. Friends has sparked an interest that will burn bright in all of us in everything we do. For all this love, feeling, and hard work, we dedicate the T980 Spindle to Friends of Lowell High.
