BROWN JOHN POPE NANETTE FIGEL SprnqScetay qTeaue i EdooLoe PAT ZELLER nq Ed to of Red a d Whtc Spring Snuvrmgnn Extra' Extra' A new king and queen are el cted by the people they establish a govern ment of fun and frolic This was the cry of every royal newsboy when on Senior Day Jan uary l953 after many moments of suspense the results were announced to an audience of l!OO Lowellites Those elected where Phil Feh len president Carole Rosenthal vice presi dent Don Brown secretary John Pope trea surer Nanette Figel editor of the Lowell and Pat Zeller Red and White editor The high school career of Student Body President Phil Fehlen was a true-to-life suc- cess story. Friendly Phil achieved his high goal through participation in many activities, l-l wus L-ll president yell leader and a member of the Block L Big Brothers and the dance and rally committees. Carole Rosenthal that girl with the smile always had a friendly Hello how are you? for everyone. Being L-ll vice president a Big Sis- ter a lifer on the CSF and a member of the Shield helped Carole make the grade. The boy elected for writer s cramp was popu- lar Don Brown. Before he became student body secretary Don was fall editor of the Lowell and a member of the Scroll and CSF. John Pope although more famous for his feats on the football field, was also a member ot the Scroll, Block L, L-l 2 class secretary, and finally student body treasurer, Giving all he had at Lowell rallies and games was the second Stan Kenton, Gil Sciacqua. Gil's robust spirit helped the rooting section help the basketball team on to its many vic- tories, Many hard hours were put in by Nanette Figel to bring you a tremendous school paper with loads of names, your namesl Nanette, be- sides being editor of the Lowell, was also a member ot the Shield, Block L, and Big Sisters, The friendly, cooperative spirit of Pat Zeller inspired her staff to bring you what we think isa terrific year book, Pat was a member of the Block L, Big Sisters and worked hard with her staff on the journal.
