Mort Dunn Joyce Howell Cal Colt Marta Nagel Joss Scroggy Bob Davey Pat Friend Bob Inman STUDENT LEADERS ' FALL '46 Officers Lead School Thru the Year A student body government, in order to be effi- cient, must have capable, hard-working student body oflicers. In the past year our students have been wise in their selection of school oliicers, for Lowell has progressed under their leadership. Even with the many duties connected with the irrespective offices, they found time to keep up their grades, social activities, and many other school interests. In order to become a candidate for a student body office, the aspirant to the olhce must be a member of the L.H.S.S.A. and in good standing with the school. According to the constitution, Good stand- ing is understood to mean regularity in attendance and satisfactory scholarship. The main duties of the student body officers are as follows, quoted from the Constitution: The duties of the president shall be those usually pertaining to the office. He shall preside in the per- formance of their dutyf, Wllhe vice-president shall perform the duties of the president in his absence and shall succeed to the ofhce of president in case of vacancy. She shall pre- side at general girls' ralliesf' The secretary shall keep full and accurate min- 30 utes of the meetings of the board of directors. He shall perform such special duties as the board of directors requiresf' The treasurer, under the general supervision of the faculty cashier, shall be the collector of the dues of this association, issuing student body cards as receipts for the same. He shall deliver all money promptly to the cashierf, The yell leader shall assist at all school rallies. It shall be the duty of the yell leader or one of his assistants to attend all games or meetings of any kind in which organized cheering is provided for. The editor of The Lowell must plan his issues so as to keep within the financial estimates agreed upon by the board of directors. He shall endeavor to conduct the paper for the common good of the schoolf, The editor of the Red and White must plan his publication so as to keep within the estimates ap- proved by the board of directors. ln the choice and arrangement of the material he must consult with the faculty sponsor. 'The manager of the cafeteria shall assist the teachers in charge of securing reliable assistants in the lunch period service.
