GOVERNMENT OTANFORD university was founded in 1881 by Leiand Stanford, a California Governor and United States Senator. Its graduates have figured prominently in Government affairs. A few of the more notable are Ex-Presi- dent Hoover, former Secretary of the Interior Wilbur, Senator McNary of Oregon, Ex- Governor Suzzallo of Washington and Ex-Governor Judd of Hawaii.
