VOLLEYB LL Lowell's Red Devils started off with a bang this year and kept it up clear through the sea- son. Winning their first eight games they were still undaunted after losing to Mohawk and came back to win two more, losing only once more to Coburg in their last game before the tournament with Mapleton. By losing only two games they were at the top of the league in Eastern Lane County, and they were to play Mapleton, champs in Western Lane County. Their hearts were full of hope as they left school the evening of Feb. 24 for Willamette High School, the place of their championship game with Mapleton. They returned defeated but undaunted and have great hopes of winning it next year. Pat Young was elected by unanimous vote for honorary captain for the year and Marilyn Moore was co-captain. - Five of the girls were initiated into Lettergirls' Club for earning their letter this year. They were Della O'Conner, Gladys Vaughn, Jutta Pelzel, Virginia Cook, and Barbara Moore.
