During the season two girls quit, but the rest of the team pulled to¬ gether when this happened. Their weak point as a team was not being able to play consistently throughout the match. Team positions and players were: servers, Michelle Bafia, Su¬ san Green, and Becky Polihronis; setters, Kim Felder, Susan Sykes, and Cindy Skorka; spiker, Bridget Spaw; defensive players, Michelle Baker, and Carla Shipley. Weight training, vigorous sprints, running a mile under eight minutes, and diving drills were some of the training the girls com¬ pleted. Becky Polihronis ' spike slips past Calu¬ met ' s attempt to return the ball.

Because of a limited eight game schedule, freshman team members played and rested with the JV team. The Freshmen ' s first season gave them a break-even season record of 4-4.
