Girl’s Swimming A swimmer is an athlete of beauty, determination, and dedication. Being in an individ¬ ual sport, the swimmer can de¬ pend only on herself for suc¬ cess and blame only herself for failure. Lowell should be very proud of the girls’ team, for in the past 6 years we have sent an average of 4 girls to state com¬ petition. The dedication and determination has paid off for the Turtles, and each individ¬ ual girl can be personally proud of the teams accom¬ plishments. Top Left: Donna Jure swims the 500. Bottom Left. AMAZING GRACE Working under better condi¬ tions this year, the gymnastics team improved considerably. The team received some badly needed equipment and was able to prac¬ tice in the new gym instead of traveling to Lake Prairie for prac¬ tice. The girls had a full optional team for the very first time. This enabled the entire team to com¬ pete evenly against its opponents.
