LOWELL’S DEVILFISH Year round practice and dedi¬ cation are strong factors in build¬ ing a successful swimming team. Building is just what Coach Ron Coghill has been doing for the past few years that he has coached the Devilfish, improving the team each year. This past sea¬ son has been especially fulfilling for the underclassmen, Mike Ar- tim, John Bochstahler, Doug Coo¬ per and Chuck Sharkey. All set a record on the 400 Free Relay. Back stroker, Doug Cooper was Lowell ' s lone finalist in Section¬ als and was named outstanding swimmer. Despite a 6-7 season. Coach Coghill is predicting a win¬ ning season next year with a mul¬ titude of skilled swimmers. Top left: Mike Artim, Keenan Kintzel and Paul Krick talk over lime. Girl’s Swimming A swimmer is an athlete of beauty, determination, and dedication. Being in an individ¬ ual sport, the swimmer can de¬ pend only on herself for suc¬ cess and blame only herself for failure. Lowell should be very proud of the girls’ team, for in the past 6 years we have sent an average of 4 girls to state com¬ petition. The dedication and determination has paid off for the Turtles, and each individ¬ ual girl can be personally proud of the teams accom¬ plishments. Top Left: Donna Jure swims the 500. Bottom Left.
