Senior Class Trip “My friends, I have one last story for you before we have to leave to- night. You see, if you’ve ever been on the Wisconsin slopes after the wind comes up and the sun goes down, you can find yourself in a whole lotta trouble, people. But what you gotta do is keep youself to- gether, keep everybody warm, and always remember to keep ridin’ the storm out.” On January 8th the senior class left for Alpine Valley Ski Resort in East Troy, Wisconsin. We planned to stay until the 10th, but because of record breaking low temperatures, high winds, and heavy snowfall, we could not leave until the I Ith. Since we were so good, the management gave us the third night free. While we were there we skied Fri- day night and some Saturday, even though the wind chill was -75 F. This didn’t stop Jay, Ed and Carol. Sunday the slopes were closed be- cause of the -95 wind chill. In the evenings we could enjoy the sauna, whirlpool and swimming pool, where we encountered a guy with a nice looking, young, inflatable doll. There was also a game room to amuse us. Kenny and Dennis enjoyed the “Amusement Center”. The class could have steak or what- ever else we wanted to eat every night. The ski lessons came in handy for some. Even after lessons, Janine wasn’t ready to go down the hardest slope, but once you are at the top there is only one way down. The rooms were another story. They were very nice, even though Larry found a dirty book in the corner of his. The closets came in handy, because they were big enough to put Jim in when we got tired of him. The community room (Tracy, Terry, Carol and Rhonda’s) was voted the messiest. The rooms had nice views of the slopes, and Rod could be found peeping through the window with his camera taking pictures of the girls. The boys room was also messy, and they hoped Mrs. Uphoff didn’t look under their beds. We al agreed that Right Guard saved our lives when Ike was patrolling the halls. All this was included in the $150.00 ski package. Other memories are: Tracy putting Carol into the vibrat- ing bed. Carol Smith and the Southern Com- fort Bottle. Jay saying, “But Mr. Mac, we were only going to listen to the band.” “Single, Single”. Carol and Terry and the guys in room 114. Singing “Billy left home with a dol- lar in his pocket and a head full of fleas. Teresa, Bev, Jayme, Les and Jeff along with the other seniors agree that this was “The Best of Times”, and we will always remember the good times we had together. 10
