But the years flew by and new things filled our desires . . . clothes, the use of the family car, dates and money.Yes, and you, Mom and Dad, were the ones who always shared these little things with us. You laughed when we laughed; cried when we cried. You knew and understood that all these things were just part of our growing stage. And so, Mom and Dad, we offer this dedication to you to express our appreciation for all the loving memories of your trust, confidence, wisdom, understanding, friendship, and love you have given us through these years. Secretary-Treasurer PSALM OF LIFE By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow In Remembrance . . . Tony Sautelet Tell me not, in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream! Life is real! Life is earnest! Not enjoyment, and not sorrow, Is our destined end or way; But to act, that each tomorrow Find us farther than today. Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time. Footprints, that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother. Seeing, shall take heart again. Let us then be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing. Learn to labor and to wait. 19 Cheryl Bicknell It's me—Cherb, Cherble, Captain Con- ehead, Moo-o-o, and such. Some of the activities the club has par- ticipated in are cross country skiing during lunch hour and on weekends at Nelson Park in Decatur. We also saw a film on skiing techniques. Although our activities have been cur- tailed this year because of the lack of snow, the club has been fun and enjoyable. 87 Girls Varsity Club Row 1: Dawn Patrick, Lisa Dyer, Rhonda Morgan, Carol Wesolek, Kerri Heathcock, Annette Coslow, Betty Seelow Row 2: Mrs. Bolsen, Teresa Reedy, Cathy Long, Amy Walters, Brenda Davis, Jill Austin, Bev Renfro Row 3: Lori Born. Mrs. Uphoff, Brenda Davis, Jody Stovall, Tracy Smith, Teresa Reedy, Jackie Fitzgibbons Because of the Student Council, we have had several extra activities this year. A hypnotist, a puppet show and a dance exhibition were among the assembly programs. The council also sponsored many special event days, such as Turkey Day, Hawaiian Day, Purple and Gold Day and the annual Christmas party. In April the Student Council and FHA held a dance for L.H.S. students.
