The Student Council is the repre- sentative body of the school. From it we learn the basic form of democracy The members of the Student Council are elected by their classes, and each member does his part in working for L.H.S. Starting the new school year the Student Council painted the tennis court. They then sold bumper stickers for a money making project and or- ganized a talent show. National Honor Society Initiates Three Membership into the National Honor Society is based on character, leadership, scholarship, and service. Those students who have a 3.5 average or better and have displayed the above character- istics are eligible. Each year the National Honor Society con- siders those persons eligible and selects 5% of the Sophomore Class, 10% of the Junior Class, and 15% of the Senior Class. This year on March 23, 1972, the National Honor Society held the initiation for the new members.
