Who Killed The Endicott family--the kind of family who lives next door. But you have the frightening knowledge that one of those congenial people has commited a murder--a cold, calculat- ing murder! Of course. Aunt Caroline deserved to die—no doubt of that—she was mean, domineering, and rich. But who in the family could have killed her? Surely not Riccy who's a swell young fellow; not Beryl, whom you'd be proud to call your sister; not little Cicely who roller skates and likes sugar on her bread. Could it have been kind-hearted Mrs. Endicott herself, or lovely Agnes who dreamed of marrying Dave, a newspaper man? Surely not! Who, then? Dan Donovan, the high school football hero, or the chemistry teacher, Miss MacLain? None of these seemed like a murderer, but there's nobody else, nobody with the slightest motive for poisoning Aunt Caroline; nobody who--but wait; maybe there was! Miss Mabbitt, Aunt Caroline's paid companion—but no, why would she kill her benefactor, the goose who laid the golden egg, the employer who’d promised her a fortune? Fiendishly and cleverly you're kept guessing up to the very end. The smell of the grease paint the roar of the crowd. 18

Sam Anderson makes a running leap to shock the audience. Ace Dawson exhibits his idea for a good cheerleader. Although you rang it when you were supposed to, you also rang it when you were not supposed to. 17 There was a month of practices before class play.
