Mrs. Ping began her teaching career in 1926 at the Dehart School in Douglas County. The last fifteen years of her teaching have been in the third grade at the Lovington Elementary School. We offer our Best Wishes to one who has served such an important part in our community.

ELEMENTARY BUILDING Winter reveals every line of the building where we began school as kinder- garten students and com- pleted the sixth grade. In warmer weather the trees shade the spacious playground that serve as a recreational area in the summer. Fall comes and the large maples attract all by their brilliant foliage. L OVINGTON HIGH OLD MAIN ENTRANCE The town of Lovington is located in a farming community; its most important crops are wheat, corn, and soy beans. Approximately half of our students arrive in school buses. Old Main, built in 1901, became too small to answer the community's needs, so a wing was built on the east to serve as a gym and one on the west to serve as an auditorium. A new gym was constructed in 1956 and the old one remodeled to accom- modate the Home Ec and Commercial Departments. The old assembly hall now houses a new library, Visual Aids, and Science Department. THE GYM
