MR. A. E. BEST ms saye ?ro n t ie c5 uper in ten cfen It is the purpose of the Mirror to portray graphically and pictorially the scholastic life of those who were enrolled in Lovington Junior-Senior High School during the 1963-64 school year. It attempts to present all phases of student activity: class work and co-curricular projects, social and recreational pursuits, and contests with the school and with other schools. The lens of the camera has caught the lights and shadows of the panorama of this past year to furnish you a bright print for your album of memory. During 1963-64, as well as throughout other years, time has been a master gleaner that has gathered up for you many meaningful things that were placed so abundantly in its path. Through patient labor and constant planning, some of these gains have already enabled you to assume leadership and scholastic achievement, but it is obvious that the future will draw even more heavily on the treasure of experi- ence and knowledge you have acquired. Congratulations to the Mirror Staff for the excellent illustration of imagination, skill, and work which were so intensively combined in the production of this year's Mirror. Superintendent 7

LOVINGTON HIGH SCHOOL LOOKING EAST Old Main, constructed in 1901. was given the wings, or twin buildings, in 1909. The addition on the west served as the gym but Time - the Creator of Change - proved the gym inadequate so a modern gym was erected in 1956. The old gym area has been converted into a home for the Home Ec and Com- mercial Departments. The east wing, built for assembly use, now houses the modern new library, visual aids, and up-to-date science department. OLD MAIN BUILDING
