Can you imagine sitting on a split log bench in front of the warm fireplace of an old white pitiared house? Or learning American History in a log cabin? The students of Loveland's earliest schools learned their reading, writing, and arithmetic in places like these. The first classes were held in peoples' homes, but later special schools were built. The first graduating class, in 1881, had only one member, Evelyn Hawley. One hundred and four years later Loveland High School says goodbye to another Senior class, and they in turn greet history in the making. Each of us has the ability to shape our own life, and therefore to shape our history. The conditions that affect the way we live change with the times, and it is our ability to change with them that determines our success or failure. Each one of us is different; some excell in sports, some in academics, and some in the arts, but we all share at least one thing: the ability to learn. 9.: m .. mg a .4 on The landmark water tower on West Loveland ht was dismantled in 1977. This buniding on West Lovetand htii housed the livst high school in Loveland. Built in 1890 this building served as the city buulding and tire house until it burned down in 1972, Mr Ogg tprincipalt, Mr. Hurst tsupenntendenlt and Mr. Koehl tasetstant principalt surveyed the progress on the addition la the high school, Aerial vtew oi the high school on Lebanon Road, The Hood of 1913 came to the steps at the band stand and the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Co. buiidtngi A B. Brook's Boysl Brigade and Drill Team posed tor a picture on July 4. 1696 The bridge over the Liltle Miami Ftiver was replaced in the late 1970's.

We learn from experience, not just our own personal experiences, but also the experiences of those before ust The mistakes of our ancestors caution us, and their successes inspire us. One day, we will be the ones that caution and inspire future generations. We will be the heroes, the figures in history that others learn from. As for now we can only live, and learn, and do our best. We determine our own futures through our actions, and must consider their consequences in our own lives and the lives of others. As the graduating class moves on, the members will look back at their own personal memories and ahead to the rest of their lives. They now begin a new phase of a great adventure.
