444 ,Aeuar s;:..-Ic High school has been like a jour- ney through a fast moving time tun- nel. It has been a beginning of changes and an awareness of the people around us. It has been a time to learn. It has been a time to learn that the fear I once felt about entering high school was within me and once I got to know myself as a person I could accept it. It has been a time of feeling inse- cure and wondering if I'd fit in with the rest of the crowd. It has been a time to learn that I must keep my dreams and believe in them, for if I let them go, life, too could elude me and leave me with onIy yesterdaysi It has been a time of making new friends and sharing with them the feelings I had. The happiness of be- ing in the same class or the disap- pointment of being defeated at a football game. It was a time to be hopeful so that all of mankind could look at the love and peace which lies within one an- other instead of trying to tear each other apart. Over the past years, there have been times when I needed to be alone and just be a friend to myself. I listened to myself think and felt con- tent with my life because I realized that what I am is so much more im- portant than who I am. There have been times when I wondered what the true meaning of love was and oh, how hard I searched for the answer! As the years went by I realized the answer was there all the time and maybe I just wasn't mature enough to under- stand. Love was there when an up- perclassman picked up the book I dropped and was there when some- one smiIed at me as I walked down the hall. Now is the time I have reached the end of the tunnel ... graduation. As I look back I can feel the wisdom that I've gained from the many exper- iences of high school. As I look ahead I see a brand new beginning awaiting us. It will be a time to meet new challenges, a time to make new choices, a time to be free. Jenny Cobb Introductionh3
