“
I am the halls of Time, weathered, aged; birth unknown; death never reached. Through mellowed corridors I have carried the march of lives, growing, learning, living, dying v ? ? I have felt my rafters tremble with the Chiming exuberance of laughing, joyful throngs; I have felt my floors washed in the salty tears of the defeated and the lost. I have heard the wheels of thoughtw-U grind and Winn . f? in patient, studious minds; 1 have seen the endless search of the young soul for its place in a passing life. Ihave known the call of crowds in mounting excitement, involvement, school spirit; I have tasted the silence of passing solitude; the quiet moments, the pondered dloughts All this and more is a part of my echoing hallways, etched with the lives of past times, scribed in the living of the present. I have Carried all life, joy and sorrow, love and violence7 disquiet and contentment. Ihave become a molder of every youthful, searching heart, past, present, and into eternity. Ihavc fostered Hie quest for knowledge, wisdom, goals7 and happiness; 110w and endlessly. This program gives the talented an opportunity to excel, as does an advanced class in any subject field. Just as a class- room is a melting pot for knowledge, so is the field of competition a melting pot for morale, leadership, endurance, discipline, courage, and many other virtues that idle individuals never experience.
