LOVELAND For several years Loveland has tried to pass a bond issue for the erection of a new school building. The question of a suitable sight has been one of the main obstacles. Finally, in the course of a few years, the Board of Education with the cooperation of the local citizens selected a site which ap- pealed to them. lt comprised twenty-three acres surrounded by beautiful trees and hills, located on the Loveland-Madeira Road just outside of the corporation line. In the spring of l94l the bond issue was again to be voted on. The children were so thrilled in the expectation of a new school that they canvassed Loveland, carrying signs urging everyone to vote yes As a result of the efforts put forth by everyone, the bond CHEMISTB Betty Hatcher, Burton, Warren Charles Thzeken, Catherine Steele, George ham, Raphael BUILDS issue passed. Soon after, various blueprints were submitted for the construction. The dedication was scheduled for Satur- day, December 6, at two o'clock. At this time the large auditorium was filled with citizens of Loveland and of surrounding communities. Superintendent Iudson E. Sprinkle, Chairman of the dedication service, presented the pub- lic an interesting program, opened by the entire audience singing America accom- panied by the school band. This was fol- lowed by the invocation by Reverend Gowdy. The band, directed by Mr. Glenden Craggs, then played an overture The Gypsy Festi- val. Hon. Iames G. Stewart, Mayor of Cin- cinnati, gave the dedicatory address. Raphael Smith sang Evening Star, followed by re- l LIBRARY M a r y Q Gentry, William Koenig. Y , Mrs hieken
