-CO WASHINGTCON TRIP APRIL 3. a group of students left Loveland for Blanchester where we caught the train for Washington. D. C. After .1 hilarious time on the train we arrived in Washington at 7 A. M. After we had had our breakfast at a restaurant near the Union Depot, all of us crowded into two sight seeing busses. The busses had two young men, one :1 driver and one to tell us about the sights. Driving down Pennsylvania Avenue the Capital, Treasury, and many other immense and beautiful buildings were pointed out, also many historical statues. All along the drive around the backwaters of the Potomac are the wonderful Cherry Blossoms. The Lincoln Memorial and Mirage Pcol were shown and at a distance the Wash- ington Monument could be seen. XVe passed by the large aquariums, zoological gardens, embassy buildings, where foreign ministers live, the residential section of millionaires and notables, Viewed the Lee Mansion, Arlington Cemetery, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the Amphitheatre. On the way to Mt. Vernon, we went through Alex- andria, the home town of George Washington. After visiting Mt. Vernon we went through the Capital, Smithsonian Institute, and Congressional Library.
