Homecoming ictor Excites Fans Homecoming was once again early this year, but that didn't stifle the enthusi- asm of the student body. For the first time in twenty six years, the senior student body voted for queen and king candidates with the athletes selecting the winners. The candidates were Julie Doebbeling, John Howard, Shawn Zachary, Steve Jones, Julie Ad- ams, and Bill Coulson. Julie and Bill were the elated victors. They were crowned at the bonfire, instead of at the football game. At halftime, the king and queen circled the field, cheered on by the estatic crowd. After a seven year drought, an inspired L.H.S. football team nipped a powerful J .F.K. squad 7-6. This knockout victory added to an already exhilarating week. The cafeteria was transformed into the Old West , which was the theme of homecoming. The cafeteria was com- plete with ghost town flats, bales of hay, and the center of attention was a huge Indian teepee. An ear-splitting band, The Wumblies, entertained at the dance. They had to be told three times to turn down their amplifiers. After that, the couples be- gan to enjoy the dance. The dance was the finale of a high-spirited and event- ful week. Julie Adams takes the traditional ride around the football field during halftime activities

Enjoying warm weather up until December was a rarity for Scandinavia-native Tore Bjornoy. Foreign Students Add Flavor Going to live in a foreign country in- volved learning a new language, meet- ing new people, and sometimes adapt- ing a whole new way of life. Although the United States was not foreign to us, it was, however, to those who came to visit from abroad. The six visitors to L.H.S. were juniors Candy Tsoa-Lee and Maria Mejia, from Australia and El Salvador, along with seniors Saied Naaseh-Shahry, Anders Ostgren, Tore Bjornoy, and Amador Medina, from Iran , Sweden, Norway, and Venezuala respectively. Tore liked Colorado for the skiing and spent many hours on the slopes. Al- though Candy occasionaly got a little homesick, all seemed to enjoy their stay. Candy Tsoa-Lee relates to the students of Loveland High School like she'd been born and raised here.
