Occasional sounds of laughter can still be heard echoing through the halls of LHS and bouncing around the roof as proof of the tremendous response the audience gave to the rollicking family comedy, Cheaper By The Dozen which the junior class presented last fall under the direction of Miss Gertrude Scott. Mr. Gilbreth lBob Brenningl was always throwing his large brood into a state of utter confusion and chaos while his wife lPat Mclverl was trying to keep the family on an even keel. Ann lPat Tretheweyl, Ernestine lSherrl Georgel, and Martha lNellie Rikerl were conspirators in trying to get their father to change his ideas about dating boys and their manner of dress. Frank llohann Deinesl and Bill lBob Mareanl were constantly presenting problems to the older girls because of their teasing ways- Fred lDon Rustl and Dan lR,on Burowl were iust at the age when the only impcrtant things were dogs. The youngest members of the cast were jackie lRalph Bashorl and Lillian ilanice Andersoni who added much with their child-like actions. Others who added to the delightful comedy were: Mrs. Fitzsimmons iMyrna Harveyl the family housekeeper, Dr. Burton lLarry Scotti the doctor whose advice was always poohpoohed by Mr. Gilbreth, joe Scales lGary Moorel Ann's first date, which proved to be highly unsuccessful, Larry lSteve Phillipsl the first boy that Ann dates successfully with father's con- sent, and Miss Brill iloan Robertsl the school teacher who hates children and proves to be the villainess. The play was a wonderful experience for the juniors and from its success it would appear to be a wonderful success for the audience as well.
