My television beam now picks up a scene in the Supreme Court, where Nell Ray, a world famous lawyer, is vociferously arguing a case, causing her associates, those staid judges and followers of precedents, to wince at her, manner as much as her teachers had done in l946. Obeying my thoughts, the scene shifts and there appears a neat radio shop with a sign in front that reads: Radios Fixed-Not for Years-Not for Life-but Forever. William Arthur Harold Loyd Riley, Prop. Next door I see a drugstore which by its sign specializes in selling Dr. Killum's Pills. Howard Karl Sanders stands proudly in front of this sign, and since I know he isn't Dr. Killum, he must be the owner of the drugstore, and this is the big business that he was always talking about . My next picture is the interior of an elaborate beauty salon called Am-lre's. But looking closely I see that Andre is only Barton Goodrum, and the customer to whom he and his entire staff are busily giving the entire works -facial, finger-wave and manicure-is none other than Arrel Harrelson, now a world-famous movie star. As I gaze in awe, several of the operators swoon and have to be replaced by others. They can't take it long at a time, and Barton calls in reserves from among his most callous operators. I am still staring in fascination at this sight, feeling just a little swoony myself, when Genois Bartee, a beautifully groomed young woman of twenty-five, enters the shop. She has just been divorced from her sixth husband and is now en- gaged to an handsome Russian General. Calmly stepping into a booth, she emerges shortly afterward, before my startled eyes, as a perfect platinum blonde. Shuddering, I cast my thoughts elsewhere. I see a sign,. General Hos- pital. Along the corridor walks Mary Bitner, dressed in a crisp, white uniform. Following closely is Faye Keels, a famous veterinarian. They are on their way to the operating room. But what, I Wonder, can Faye be doing there? Then I see the rest of the sign. It reads: Dogs, Cats, and Pets of All Kinds. Rates Reasonable. The picture dims, then fades as another takes its place. The huge steel center of Pittsburgh appears. In one of the thousands of large offices Sybil Parker sits comfortably on her' boss's knee-but it's all right. I remember, in time to keep from passing out from the shock, that exactly two weeks before, Sybil married her boss. 'Lila Iean Walker, I wonder, where is she? A circus appears before my eyes. There she is-the bareback rider, doing flips in mid air. Slim and graceful-she doesn't look like the Lila Iean I knew. Entranced, I gazed at the scene before my eyes. The fat lady wobbles forward and she is none other than Dorothy Broxson. From 100, pounds to 350 in ten years is no mean achievement. - The city of Delhi appears before me. In the middle of the street at a busy intersection sits a man. Legs folded under him, arms crossed, he sits and gazes into space as the crowd surges, separates around him, and presses on. l recognize this untroubled look from my high school days. Yes, it is Ocie LaRue, a world renowned disciple of Yoga. Motionless he sits, the profundity of his thoughts apparent to all. It would be a desecration-also an impossi- bility-to learn these thoughts. I-Iis teachers of high school days must blush in shame when they recall their efforts to bring his thoughts from the higher things of life to such lesser things as Chemistry or English Grammar.

0' 4 f My thoughts turn from this as from a shrine and the faces of Darlene, Dorothy Straughan and Wilma Ruth appear. They are billed on the radio as the Three Drops sponsored by the Dunkem Coffee Company. When Bobby Ioe's face fails to appear, I am worried at first, then press the moon lever. Yes, there he is, a flagpole sitter on the moon. Not even the man in the moon can sit so long and do nothing as can Bobby Ioe. Hazel Driskell, his press agent, has made much of this, and no little ill will has been created in certain quarters there. Now I find a flagpole marathan is on be- tween Bobby Ioe and the Man in the Moon-the loser to read an entire book. Those on Earth who know Bobby foe are betting heavily on him. I instantly c-all Loyds of London and place a bet myself-not that I believe in gambling, but the penalty makes it a sure thing. I remember that he was always gllergic to books and broke out in a rash at the thought of opening one Suddenly I hear a familiar voice exclaim: Why Florence Alice, I dicln't know you were hostess on the INTER- PLANET. I jump and start to run, then remember that running is forbidden here, too. Then in a dignified manner I turn and see Sue Burton in a chef's cap and uniform. It's Sue! I giggle nervously, It's a small wor'-wer I mean universe, iSr1't it? 3 wp ff MAR 0 I C I 'f-ff- I fd 'f-Lie 4 I D E l I, 'T
