In the 1972 season, the LHS football team reached the pinnacle of success - an undefeated state championship team. Few expected the '73 unit to mat-ch predecessors, 'but no one predicted LHS would plummet to its poorest gridiron' record in recent memory. Theseason 'opened with ga resounding 6-0 victory over the giants of Lake Mills.. The Israelites vs. the Philistinesall 'over again. The Eagles were confidentp two weeks seemed too long to wait as the gridders faced Paceliti, an intense rival. At the final the'Shamrock: emotional edge showed an the scoreboard. , Homtecomfing pageantryaandf excitementlfollowed.
