The underclassmen look on. 50 Jason follows Chris’s excellent blocking. The 1987 football season will be remembered as an up and down season. I can remember many fun and bright memories during the season even though we finished with a 1 and 8 record. We had a new head coach, Ken Myers, that brought many dif- ferent and exciting plays and drills to Lourdes. Our team had three of the best Seniors around, Jim Neil who developed into a good de- fensive lineman, Guy Durr who played with a lot of emotion and filled in at any position, and at last, Chris Stanley who played with more heart than I have ever seen. I will never forget the team’s excitement during the win over Waterloo, or the team’s pride during the Fall City game! Guy is attempting to tackle this moose. Jeremy was our All-Academic player this year. Tim, Chris, and Bubba stop this player for no yardage. Tim is quickly grabbed after returning this kick. Chris Fox makes long yardage in the open field. 51 Sudden impact Chris Stanley and Jason Morris led the Knight’s football team with the most tackles. Both players received many end of season honors. With no returning starters the Knights faced very tough com- petition. The Knights were a very young and inexperienced team. The rebuilding Knights were able to give some teams some tough times and showed improvement throughout the season. The only senior on the team was Lance Kreifels. There will be a good group of returning players to build on next year. Highlights of the season were tremedous comebacks against Kickapoo and Douglas.
