LETTERS TO THE ■ EDITOR Dear Editor: It is during this time of the year when we take a time out to thank our parents for sending us to Catholic schools, where we have a chance to not only learn the basic subjects but also the basics of our religion. Certainly our parents are our beacon of hope. They bring us through the hard times with their light and by sending us to this school. We thank you. the parents of all students, for all your patronage, voluntary help and guidance through the years. Thank you, Lourdes Central School students 33 Kevin trie to amuse himself while Lonnie Matt tries to help Leslie hang the streamers does the real work. for prom. Diane and Anne near the finish. The Junior guys show real teamwork. Kris Meyer and Cherie Schreiner get into the decorating spirit. Don’t worry Suel It won’t fall on you! PROM ’84 This year the prom was done with the colors red, white, black, and grey. The decorating was done to give a sidewalk in Paris effect. To give this effect we built an Eiffel Tower and used real shrubs, trees, and other greenery. The prom was held in the gym so streamers and parachutes were used to lower the ceiling. The theme chosen for prom was Don’t Let It End . The theme was displayed on the Eiffel Tower Kevin Durr shows real coordination. Dennis places glasses on the tables. Don't Let It End Anne and Tom seem to be having fun. 36 Bryan gets into the music. This year the prom was done with a new twist. A banquet was held before the dance. At the banquet the seniors were the center of attention. The juniors made prophecies about the senior class. While in return the seniors willed various things to the underclassmen. The Pudd brothers provided the music for the evening. Tom reads the Senior Wills. Sue and Kevin read the Senior Prophecies. Having fun Matt? The tempo picks up as the evening goes on. Mr. Lair checks to see if Judy has her garter. 37 The Pudd Brothers provided great music. Anne Stratker. Junior class president, leads the way with her date Tom Funke. Tracy and Robert enjoy Grand March. CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN This was the first year that Lourdes presented a drama rather than a musical. Cheaper By The Dozen” was well accepted by the public. The comedy, under the direction of Mrs. Diana Harris, was successfully per- formed on March 16, 17, § 18. COMMENCEMENT Twelve long years have come to a close, our best years have come and gone, and our many memories, we'll cherish a lifetime long. Together we have shared - the laughter • the tears, together we've survived - year after year. As on our very first day of school, we face the world alone. We ll build a new foundation, and show how much we've grown. We’d like to thank all of you — the parent - teacher - friend, for always standing by us, until the very end. Please wish us the best of luck, and pray for us each day-, for time has come for us to leave, and go our separate way. We've paved the road to which we’ll walk, the future we cannot see - but to the door of our success, each of us hold the key. -Patricia Lynn Eilers- Upper left: The guys wait for graduation to begin.
